What better way to advertise your 'thing' than by using a real live person and follow him around for a year, documenting their every move. This is exactly what Groupon did. Groupon is a 'deal a day' web-based business; you get coupons from their site and this coupon might be good for only a certain day. Groupon then ran a video contest and whoever could won this contest would have to live off Groupons for a full year, all the while documenting this person's activities.

Enter Josh Stevens who submitted this video which was enough to convince Groupon to have him Live Off Groupon, which Josh has been doing for over 3 months now. From his site, check out Josh's interview on the Today Show to find out more about what this plight.

Now why did I mention this? The only reason is because I think Josh is kind of cute - and I have no clue of his sexual orientation (nor am I interested), however I think Josh is quite charming. Good luck on the next 9 months.

That's how we were introduced to this very cool Bear reality show which was put together by Jonathan Robinson and his crew  (creator of Britain's Next Bear Model). Well today we have the results, and I'm not saying a word, you're just going to have to go and watch the final episode to see who walked away with this illustrious 'DreamBear' spot.

I discovered the DreamBears via Jonathan Robinson's excellent recent production the he (Jon) and his crew 'dreamt up' - a reality-like TV show in which 2 members of the DreamBears are going through the stage in looking for a replacement - as '3 become 2' after their 3rd moved.

These talented men are Bears in every sense of the word: husky 'n hairy right down to their cute little toes... and man do they know how to use their toes, their feet, their legs... and they can seriously shake it (like a salt shaker).

In this 'lil article, I pointed you to the 1st 3 episodes of this cute 'n cuddly series (quick reminder - Episode I, Episode II and Episode III), and now it's time to check out the latest - episode #4 - and a little sidenote here: I mistakenly said that #4 was to be the final episode in which they reveal who will be DreamBear #3; and the good news is that there is still one more episode to come.

But...

I need to mention this: after I paid a little visit to DreamBears.com, I discovered that the original 3 braved that huge fucking talented show with that evil smelly judge (Britain's Got Talent). When I saw that, when I saw that they actually auditioned, I was like... WOW (double wow, actually). Best of all, they fucking rocked! I was hooked then and there (Audition #1).

So Simon instantly hits the button out of nerves however the other 2 judges sincerely enjoyed this act that was just bursting with the cutest burliest of Bears, so much so in fact that they made it through to the 2nd round.

Holy shit... they were even better in the 2nd round than they were in the 1st. And those hot outfits! And those beautiful husky legs dancing, them doing flips. Again... hooked... popcorn spilling everywhere...

Alas, they didn't make it through after, however that's insignificant 'cause these brothers got up and did their thing in front of the whole fucking world - and they did the Bear world proud... so congrats for even just 'thinking' about going on that stage, let alone doing what you guys did.

Another incredible production by British invasion Jonathan Robinson (creator of Britain's Next Bear Model). This time around, he's worked on another Bear reality TV like show with showmen Justin and Luke leading us through what it takes to be a DreamBear. It ain't just glamour, it's hard work and scary flips on stage (I couldn't do those flips); it's sweat while you smile but the best thing about all is that these guys are really cute, actually they're downright fucking adorable. Dan was also quite cute (blond... grrz) however he's left which made way for this fun Bear reality series.

You gotta love it when a chick sings that if she was a guy, she'd want to be a Bear - and not just any type of Bear, but a Bear that's as big a cabin, say in the ballpark of 260 pounds of raw Bear meat. Last week Kevin Smith was kicked off a plane for being too fat. This is what he Tweeted and the response he got was huge. It's been all over the news since. Now there's allegations that Kevin Smith did this as a way to promote his new movie which is due out soon. They state that rather go to Southwest - the company - to complain, he went straight to Tweeter which stirred up the controversy.

If you're a fan of Kevin Smith, then check out his 25 part podcast on YouTube. Seems Kevin has a lot to say about a lot of stuff. Also (in that podcast), it looks like Kevin Smith is bringing back a punkish hairdo that Billy Idol used to wear back shortly after his Generation X days in the late 70s. This is not 'Bear' related news, it's just wild enough to share: the guy's name is Douglas Hines and he made a $7,000 talking doll named Roxxxy" "Roxxxy's body is made from hypoallergenic silicone molded over a rigid skeleton. While she cannot move on her own but can be contorted into almost any natural position" and "She uses voice-recognition and speech-synthesis software to answer questions and carry on conversations" (article ~ another article - video).

Back on November 24th '09, a couple known as the Salahis crashed the president's Barack Obama's state dinner (article - Wiki). The party crashers later claimed they were invited, however once Barack Obama himself stated that the Salahis were never invited, well, they are big trouble now with the possibility of receiving prison time.

The Salahis had to stand in front of a hearing in which they were asked tons of questions (32 of them) yet, under the orders from their attorney, they plead the 5th on every single one of them. To see the full hour hearing, see this video.

What is sad about this - Tareq Salahi is cute - would be even cuter with some facial hair - however the things people will do in order to get attention scares me... oh.. and do something stupid and you just might see yourself being parodied on SNL.

At the beginning of 2010, actor/comedian Artie Lange (images - videos) tried committing suicide, stabbing himself 9 times in the stomach (news). At first when I heard the news, my first reaction was - "this guy is an extremely cute and really husky Bearish looking guy - how come I never heard of him before?...", however after a quick search, I realized I had seen him before, way back in 95 or so when he was on MadTV and then later in a horrible movie 'Dirty Work'. Fast forward 15 years later, and he's in the hospital from self-inflicting wounds. I realize why I did not hear of Lange afterwards - it's because he's been primarily working on the Howard Stern Show for the past 10 years, and I never listen to that show.

Taking a look at his Wiki page, Artie Lange has had health issues for quite some time, going on and off heroin while his weight has been far from constant (from 230 to almost 300).

It's really sad when a comedian can be so unhappy. Maybe not sad... perhaps ironic...? I'm just hoping that this is a huge wake-up call for Artie Lange - that he'll not only get the proper care, yet also begin to realize that life is a true gift.

Burj Khalifa - world's tallest building (Wiki - Video) officially opens today - January 4th 2010. Triple wow! I wonder if I would have the courage to go up to the top of it - 828 meters high. I think I would. What a sight it must be. It's got hotels, offices, luxury apartments, a swimming pool on the 76th floor (highest pool as well)... 'n more stuff, just incredible, I'm still reading up on all the wonderments this structure has to offer.

It's time to tune your internet dial over to The Robbie K Show. Robbie K is doing his thing right on YouTube, talking about this and that, smiles a bit, then does a bit of singing, smiles, lipsynchs, then smiles a bit more. Hey, he's Canadian, like me - we smile a lot (smile), and he's got a superb mug which looks best when smiling, anyhow. Robbie has been doing his own show for the past 6 months or so and has quite a few videos up. Yes it's the day after Xmas so I really should not be posting anything about Xmas until November 2010, however for 'father' Damian Abraham, the lead singer for the band 'Fucked Up' (blogsite - article - video), I don't mind making an exception. Check out his site as his band has created a version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas' with funds going to charity. Buy it Now, listen to it until Xmas 2010... yes...?

Following up on an early November case about the Mohler family (a father - his 4 sons, then the father's brother - articles) who have been convicted of around 50 counts of sexually abusing children, kidnapping and even murder.

One month later and those accused have not come up with a body... actually it's not sure exactly what the prosecution is holding. From these Examiner articles (article #1 - article #2), the author is stating that it just wasn't right to have these guys displayed shuffling into the court in orange briefs, handcuffed, without actually having the proof that these guys actually committed any of these alleged crimes (First November Video ~ Latest Updated December Video).

Right now the Mohlers are all scrambling trying to get a lawyer. This story is really going to be interesting to see in which way it's going to turn, because without proof, how can they explain this bust?

I think I'm going to start following politics a little more closely, because if there are any other cute Bearish guys in suits that look like Thomas Duane (website), then gear me to the polls.

Joking aside, Tom Duane is a voice for same-sex rights in New York, being a State Senate since 1998. He is the first openly-gay and first openly HIV-positive Senate. Some really big boots there to fill.

Recently Duane was in the news (CNN) when a same-sex marriage bill was voted down in New York. From the article, even though they didn't win, they plan on redoubling their efforts.

And lastly, watch Tom Duane in action (YouTube video #1 - video #2). And for all his cuteness, he's a bit of an angry guy. I'm actually a little taken aback with his mannerisms, yet there's something to be said about a big Bearish politician who's believing in his cause.

His name was Eddie Fatu, better known as Umaga in the wild world of wrestling, died at the age of 36. He died of a heart attack and his death has surprised the WWE and fans. I gotta be honest and say that I do not watch wrestling, however Umaga looks like someone I would always feel the need to be nice to, for some 'overwhelming' reasons unbeknownst to me. Hope there's a wrestling ring for him in the skies (a few Umaga videos on YouTube).

The incredibly cute and talented young Bear Cub from Ohio - Bigg Nugg (website - YouTube - MySpace - FaceBook - articles - TubeBear) has released a new EP today entitled 'Electro Habitual'. 8 songs on this which makes it a very long EP for simply $5 - think of it as your Xmas present to this uber sexy hip-hop Bear rapping artist. [Associated Press video] I don't think I'll ever stop being surprised by what a human being can think and do; here's the story of Daniel Webb, 33, a preacher, who hurt his knee. He was approximately 500 pounds at the time. So he went home, sat in his recliner, and decided to wait for God to come and heal him.

8 months and 300+ pounds later, his wife finally decides to call the paramedics who stated he was physically stuck to his recliner which they had to cut him out of, and then they also had to cut open a bigger exit to their mobile home so as to get him to the hospital, at which point he died a few hours later.

Being a preacher, did Daniel not once think 'God helps those who help themselves?'.

This article is not about poking fun at someone's faith, nor is this article laughing at obesity. When it comes to faith, I truly believe that spirituality is beautiful and important - as long as you do not hurt others nor yourself in order to make people understand your views on God. However reading your Bible or praying all day hoping for a miracle while not doing anything else with your life... that is not faith, that is not spiritual. That is just lazy.

And when it comes to weight issues - well for someone like myself who runs a Bear site, I know that many guys are turned on by overweight men. Truly - 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'... but what's more important - being a sexy Bearish man or your health? If you're a big guy and you're healthy, then truly - 'God bless ya'... but if your weight has become a health problem, then quickly try and figure out what's going wrong in your life, and don't sit in a recliner waiting for God to sort out your health issues for you.

This story is beyond belief: a mother sells her 5 year old daughter into prostitution for a drug debt she owed. The child goes missing and then her body is found a week later.

Shaniya Davis, 5, was living with her father, Bradley Lockhart. The mother - Antoinette Nicole Davis - had asked if she could take care of their child one month prior to the incident. Lockhart stated that he felt it was ok for her to take their daughter as Davis had been holding down a job for 6 months. Then the child goes missing. The mother calls 911 (video) and says she believes her child just walked out the door. The father then pleas on national TV to bring his child back to him (video). A week goes by and there is a report that the child's body is found. The father has not been doing well since the occurrence and has refused to speak to reporters since (video).

Surveillance videos shows a man, Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, carrying the child in his arms into a hotel room, the same day the missing persons report was filed. McNeill has a yard long rap sheet including shooting someone in the face. He was out on probation when all of this happened. It is believed that the mother gave up her child for prostitution in order to pay a drug debt she owed (video).

It's impossible to believe that a mother could traffic her own child. Just what goes through the mind of someone on drugs is incredibly scary as there is not a single rational decision that they can make. However listening to the 911 call, drug users are the best liars around. Nevertheless, to profit on prostituting a 5 year has to be the worst conceivable act on Mother Earth.

Both the mother and the man carrying the child into the hotel are behind bars.

This story brings a whole new meaning to 'all in the family': an aging father (77 years old) and his 4 sons ranging from the ages of 47 to 53 are all being convicted with the allegations of sexually abusing children, which includes "bestiality, forcing children into fake marriages with relatives and making an 11-year-old have an abortion, date from 1988 to 1995" (Associated Press article). There's also indications that there's possibly numerous bodies on their land. And get this - 3 out of the 5 are lay ministers in the Community of Christ church in Missouri. What gets me is how all of the sons are these good looking Bearish men, but the most incredible part is how 3 of these guys are ministers for God. Triple wow - sad how so many men hide behind God's good name, all the while believing they will get away with it.
