I've got friends in all the right places
I know what they want
and I know they don't want me to stay

I'm not sure exactly what the lyrics all mean but I'm hooked on this new song by a band called Manchester Orchestra (website - MySpace), with lead vocalist Andy Hull crooning these guys into what I hope for them is potential stardom.

The song I'm referring to is called I've Got Friends and it's from their latest album 'Mean Everything to Nothing'. Take a look at these guys on David Letterman (YouTube) and on Jimmy Fallon (YouTube).

As a side note - my partner Roger finds the song a little heavy for his likings. I just seem to find myself bopping my head like their keyboardist.

And another side note - Andy Hull is married, yet there is something just kinda neat and cool about him, and I love the scraggly beard. He is like a Bearish version of Kurt Cobain.

Not only are Bears cute and they take up a lot of our 'fantasy' time (as in, when you're fantasizing about someone lying on top of you, it's a Bear)... well Bears got Talent as well! From the maker of 'Britain's Next Bear Model' (articles) comes another Bear talent show spinoff. British director Jonathan Robinson (FunFur.tv - YouTube - profile) has put together a video in which you watch 8 contestants from around the world do their 'thing' and you get to vote for the next 3 who'll go on to the 2nd round. There's guys who sing, dance, play the violin and guitar... and there's one who splashes into pools (... no comment ...), and finally, one contestant who can vows he can crack every part of his body. I really hope he goes on to the next round 'cause he said he can crack his toes which I'd like to see (yes, I'm a little twisted). Go check it out for yourself, and cast your vote by leaving your comments.

"I know... I know... I live the life of a sinner...". Those are lyrics from an excellent song called 'Sinner' (VideoMP3). The artist is known as Big B - he's the one who does the rapping. I first heard the song on the radio, liked it, checked out the artist and I was like - well, well, well, he's all about white trash, no shirt, big belly, tons of tattoos. He's a ton fun so here are some links with videos and photos of the Big B - website - MySpace - videos.

Smarter Than the Average Bear Share, RSS
Thursday, May 7, 2009

Do you consider yourself 'Smarter than the average Bear...?' because that is a a question that Tommy aka STTABear is asking us. Actually, STTABear has started his own game show - which is a very cool thing to do - and in this game show you get to see our very handsome host ask you 10 questions (5 visual questions and 5 audio) which he posts on his YouTube channel every Sunday. In order for you to play, you simply need to 'video' respond him back with the answers. What a great idea! This show began at the beginning of April and so far there's 4 episodes. So hop on the quiz gaming bandwagon and show the rest than you're smarter than the average Bear by participating.

Make sure to check out his website as well. Prior shows are posted there including write-ups.

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Way back in December of '06, I posted an article about this musician who goes by the name of Obadiah Parker (real name Mat Weddle) and he did this cover of 'Hey Ya', an Outkast song (video here). It went incredibly virus, and Obadiah believed it was his big break. Well 2+ years later and he realized that he was still waiting to be signed on. Well he decided to take matters into his own hands, and from what he states from his website, he's going to record his own album, and he's asking for a bit of help. Just to let you know, he's straight and I think the only reason why I'm posting this is because he's got such a cool beard, but he also has a voice that touches the soul, so here's hoping his talent doesn't go to waste.

Nina West takes on Katy Perry! Actually, you might have heard the hit song by Katy Perry 'I Kissed a Girl' (Video - MP3). Well Nina West has made a spoof of it and it's called 'I Kissed a Bear'. See the video here on YouTube. Here are some of the lyrics "I kissed a Bear... I liked it. I hope my twink friends don't mind it. It felt so woof... it felt so grr... it doesn't mean I'm a chubby chaser". Oh yes it does.

Thanks to Greg Hudson (profile) of Woobie Bear Music for pointing out this cuddly video.

He has a few videos which you can see from his website ~ Tom-Fort.com or from his YouTube page, with his latest video entitled 'A Day on the Beach'. Lastly, Tom Fort has started a safe sex project called BearPower.

Jonathan Robinson Share, RSS

Jonathan Robinson has been doing an extreme amount of work within the Bear realm. His Bearish career started when he followed the ManBears as they made their way in a parade and he filmed the affair. From then on he's turned out more short Bear videos than anyone else I can think of. He then opened up FunFur.tv, a site in which you can download his videos in high-res, all the while Jonathan has made his stuff available from his YouTube channel.

He has worked on a ton of stuff, such as the BSI (Bear Scene Investigation) to the incredibly well produced 'Britain's Next Bear Model' (articles) which we here at PlanetBears followed religiously for the 8 weeks it aired. As well, Jonathan has dabbled with Bear adult material, stuff you can download on FunFur.tv.

Check out this spotlight on Jonathan done by the UK Guardian. Jonathan speaks how he went from producing for TV to the internet and how he foresees how our viewing habits will change in the future. And you will also see the really cute Seamus McAteer (website - article) who has a few good words to add.

It's really great to see Jonathan Robinson receive the credit he definitely deserves. If you feel like sending Jonathan a little 'hello' note, visit his TubeBear profile.

The following is not Bear related... it's about Earth Hour, a yearly event that began in 2007 while achieving worldwide participation in 2008 (Wiki). On Saturday, March 28th at 8:30PM - turn off your lights for an hour. This year it's about 'voting for Earth' (video) and they wish to have 1 billion people switch off their lights.

From Earth Hour: "We need your help to get as many people signed up to Earth Hour as possible! Our goal this year is to have 1 billion people turn out their lights for Earth Hour. Why? Because the more lights we turn off, the stronger our message will be that the world needs action on climate change now! Let governments around the globe know that we are ready to take action for our planet and we expect them to take action too".

Well I just came across yet another remake, and this time it stars the mascot to the Detroit Pistons Mascot, Hooper, with a couple of guys who look like linebackers. Check it out here.

For more on this, check out this CNN article and these 2 videos on YouTube (CNN video ~ MSNBC video).

Beheads Wife Share, RSS

A founder of an Islamic TV station located in New York has been accused of beheading his wife, who happens to also be a founder of this TV network. The Bearish man is named Muzzammil Hassan (photo) and the TV network is called 'Bridges TV' which is the very first American Muslim television to be broadcasted in the English language. And just what is the goal of 'Bridges TV'...? From their website they state that it "aims to foster a greater understanding among many cultures and diverse populations". From this CNN article, one of the goals of Hassan was that he hoped his TV station "would balance negative portrayals of Muslims following the attacks of September 11, 2001". Of course, beheading your wife after she had filed for a divorce and she had cited previous incidents of domestic violence (Times Online article).

Lastly, check out this video, an NBC report that was done on 'Bridges TV' when it was first made available back in 2004. Also, watch this recent video just added on CNN.

There's really not all that much info about Unit-911, neither on his MySpace page nor on YouTube page, but his video Give it to Me is just so utterly muscle Bear campy, it's something you should watch, just to see the chorus woof at ya. Unit-911 reminds me a bit of a leather version of BearForce1 (website - articles)... kinda... Unit-911 is more machismo, BearForce1 is more... gay, I would say. Thanks to Perdido's Wooflog for the link to this guy. Woof...!

Storm Share, RSS
Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Awhile back, I wrote an article about a Bearish guy by the name of Storm who runs a site called the Shack of Sin. I also mentioned that whatever action photos or videos he makes, it's with women, yet Storm is very open minded and he knows that there's a lot of guys who get off looking at him. He's actually so open that he created a TubeBear profile. From his site, he never mentions that he's simply straight... maybe he's a bi-Bear... or a try-Bear (as in will try it once)...

Check out this vlog. Storm mentions PlanetBears in it (very cool). He also mentioned in his vlog that YouTube had recently removed his YouTube channel, and that he had to create a new one (and if you like Bear's feet, there's a couple of cute videos of Storm and his feet). I can related when he mentions that he had a lot of videos that he posted and how YouTube just goes ahead and deletes the whole channel since it happened to me (the article about that is here). Nevertheless, Storm isn't disheartened and he's rebuilding his new channel ~ Storm's Backroom. And of course, if you want to see racier videos, then check out his website.

Ahmet is my Family Share, RSS
Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Here's a new video from Jonathan Robinson of FunFur.tv (website - YouTube - profile), yet this video is quite different from those we're used to from Jonathan; it's concerning a young man who was known as Ahmet Yildiz (1982 - 2008), a good looking Turkish who fell victim to Turkey's first gay 'honour killing'.

From this Independent article: "In a corner of Istanbul today, the man who might be described as Turkey's gay poster boy will be buried – a victim, his friends believe, of the country's deepening friction between an increasingly liberal society and its entrenched conservative traditions. Ahmet Yildiz, 26, a physics student who represented his country at an international gay gathering in San Francisco last year, was shot leaving a cafe near the Bosphorus strait this week. Fatally wounded, the student tried to flee the attackers in his car, but lost control, crashed at the side of the road and died shortly afterwards in hospital. His friends believe Mr. Yildiz was the victim of the country's first gay honour killing".

For a really nice tribute, take a look at this Beargi magazine ~ issue #31. Beargi is an online Turkish mag for Bears (website - articles) created by the Bears of Turkey. And click here to see a drawing done by Tagame (website)(this is the original picture - colour - b&w). Lastly, check out this blog dedicated to Ahmet. Jonathan is asking all to post this video on their blogs.

Sometimes you come across a video on YouTube and you say... hmm... then you say... ok... then you just might say... wtf a whole bunch of time...

Check out Dad Cop 2. I don't know what happened to Dad Cop 1 but to be honest, I don't think it really matters. And I don't get the ending, but that's ok, I don't think there's anything to really get from this, except that it's pretty witty.

This looks like it's going to be a fun movie. It's called 'The Boat That Rocked' (trailer - poster - Wiki) and it stars Philip Seymour Hoffman (Google images) and Nick Frost (Google images)... indeed quite a Bearish cast. The movie "is set in 1966 and tells of the United Kingdom pirate radio movement, which used a legal loophole to broadcast to audiences of up to 25 million from ships anchored off the coast of the UK".

Planet of the Santa Bear Clawz & Cub Share, RSS
Wednesday, December 31, 2008

I have posted about the short movie 'Planet of the Santa Bear Clawz & Cub' before since this video was made on Xmas eve '06, however this is the 1st time I'm actually posting it here on the site. Before it was on linked to YouTube, but since YouTube decided to delete my profile after it was flagged (article here), well all my movies were removed, this one included. Actually, YouTube removed this movie from my channels months before they finally decided to delete my profile. Why? Because you see Santa's weenie for a split second (I know - no weenie on YouTube). When I still had my profile, I decided to censor and re-upped the non-weenie version of POTSBC&C (Planet of the Santa Bear Clawz & Cub). It stayed there for awhile, yet YouTube just trashed my channel since my movies were too sexy for them. Their loss...

Anyhow, you can now see this short Xmas movie here on PlanetBears, starring Eric Z (galleries ~ profile) and David (galleries ~ profile) - (and there's more videos of David and Eric in the Video section), and made by me (Bob Forrest - profile). What's great is you can now get to see that whole second of Santa's weenie...! The fun never ends here on PlanetBears, it's all just so exciting. And for those who want to see that weenie in hi-resolution (I should use other words than weenie, like penis or cock... but well... I'm in a weenie mood), you can download it (it's just under a gig).

Also, we took some pictures from the shoot, and you can see those here. And lastly, after watching the original POTSBC&C, check out the article directly below and watch 'The Making of...'. It's almost as fun watching us make it as seeing the original.

Happy New Year everyone. Make '09 the best damn year of your life, ok...?
