Claude Martin (website) aka mARTin is this most highly talented French Canadian cute Bear artist who lives in Quebec City. He has so many talents it would take awhile to list them all, however what you will find on the short list is that he's a painter, a muralist, decorative painter, singer, songwriter, teacher, info-graphic designer, photographer, plays many instruments... and can you believe he's actually shy?

Claude has not been on stage since the dissolution of his rock band Cendres in 1992, however he is still composing and you can actually download his latest work from his site. The CD is called 'Docteur Bill Board' and you can grab it free here. Claude has a very unique style of his own and his music is quite classy.

He is recently back from Europe and he says he was very inspired. He had an exhibition of his work in Nice entitled 'Portraits on Extasy' as well as displaying a series of erotic drawings in Amsterdam... he is now back and already working on his latest project of cityscapes called 'Velo City. And don't miss his next abstract show 'Fresh Paint' or 'how to protect a surface from bad weather while exposing it to critics'. He will be celebrating his 20th anniversary as a painter with this expo.

ok... that wasn't the last thing... Claude is also one of the organizers of BEARmuda (website - articles)... an event that brings together Bears to Quebec City. Their next get-together will be from August 29th thru the 31st as they plan on celebrating Quebec City's 400th anniversary in style.

The BEARmuda is a rendezvous for Bears in the city of Quebec. BEARmuda is coinciding with Gay Pride as well as Quebec's 400th anniversary, so there will be all kinds of great things to check out. This will be taking place from August 29th thru the 31st. They plan on brunches, dinners, open-air spectacles, happy hours, as well as participating in all the other activities which will be going on in irresistible Quebec. There is a new bar opening up this weekend in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). It's called Woof Bistro and the doors are opening on Friday, June 20th at 5PM. As they state on their site, it's "Happy Hour for all the Bears and friends". At 10PM the DJ will be showing up. On Sunday there is comedy night.

More from their site: "The Bistro is open daily from 8AM until 7:30PM. Whether it's to check out the daily news in our papers, surf the net on our free Wi-Fi Internet access, take advantage of our video poker machines or simply to relax in front of our wide screen TV you will find something for all tastes.

The following is from Jacques, aka PandaMontreal (homepage - PlanetBears gallery - TubeBear profile): "We have a new home for the UpBear Brunch in Montreal, Quebec, Canada: Hotel des Gouverneurs is 5 star restaurant and they agreed to give us a special of $19.95 instead of their regular $21.95 so we will be going there for a while We have our next brunch on January 27th.

Also, we are planning a 'Sugar Shack' outing for Sunday, March 30th which will be the 5th Anniversary of UpBear Brunch.  More details to follow".

Join the Événours group in Montreal, Quebec for an afternoon filled with fun as they hit Saint Helen's Island for a picnic on August 25th. There is a bbq planned, pool time, and they will be visiting Expo '67 on a little train ride.

Make it a weekend with Bears and join the UpBear gang (run by JBearWoof - TubeBear profile - and with help from PandaMontreal - TubeBear profile) for their monthly brunch at Le Café Européen on August 26th. These 2 events are not associated, I'm just listing some things to do in Montreal this upcoming weekend.

It's called Bearmuda which will be taking place in Quebec city ~ which is in Quebec in Canada from August 31st thru September 2nd. Now I know that Bermuda is kinda far from Quebec but I'm sure things will definitely heat up once you get a bunch of cute French Canadian Bears together dancing the night away. Vivez les Ours...!

His other site is called BigManJoe and there you will learn everything Joe. The 1st thing you'll learn is that he is Frenchman from Quebec, Canada so his site is in French.

The sold out Sugar Bear Weekend just came and went here in Montreal with I believe 300 men or so attending the event.

Roger and I headed over to the bar headquarters Le Stud on Friday and the place was packed with a line up (a first I've seen with Stud). We returned Sunday and again the place was full. While some of the activities were going on inside, I got Roger and some friends to hang out in the bad boy smoking area and took a few pics. Click here to see the full set.

I mention this a lot and it's only because I mean it ~ I meet a lot of guys with this site and work with some really fine ones, however, with time, we lose touch which sucks because... life gets in the way.

Anyhow, I get an email from Frank, and there's a link, and lo lo lo there he is looking fine as ever. Frank and I did a photo shoot a few years back (some previews here), however he lives out in New Jersey which isn't around the corner to Montreal... but if the Bear Gods have it, I'm hoping we'll meet up again for a follow up photo shoot.

First off, I'm really bad when it comes to the Pic of the Day. It's more like Pic of the Week but hey, I'm trying.

Ok today's Pic of the Day is of George from NYC. He emailed me to tell me that he'll be in my area soon because he's attending Sugar Bear Weekend (Montreal, QC, Canada ~ March 29th thru April 1st), and that he wants to get together for a photo shoot. So here's hoping we'll hook up.

Montreal is about 40 minutes away from my place in a car. I live out in the outskirts of the Laurentians where everyone goes skiing; so I dig country enough to live out here but Montreal does have the hottest night life you'll find anywhere in the world, that I could guarantee. We had a bar here called Cox that even Europeans would come here for it.

Anyway - there's a bunch of really good looking Bearish men who get together for Brunch once a month here in Montreal. It's organized by Jean Frédéric (contact info) with a lot of help from Jacques Garon, aka Panda (homepage). Check out their site UpBear.com for all the details, however this month the brunch is on Sunday, March 25th.

Also - check out UpBearWiki - a French Wiki for Bears. Ingenious... or better ~ Ingénieux.

Time to polish that French you learnt back in college and join the UpBear brunch group as they will be meeting this upcoming December 17th (Sunday) at Café Européen (notice the cool little accents on the e's - makes the e sound like eh - as in Canada, éh). This Saturday (December 9th), there is a Bear Soup at the Colonial in Montreal, QC, Canada. There's usually a very good showing with around 60-70 men. The Soup is every 2nd Saturday of the month.
