Way back in February (articles), I mentioned that photographer Antinoo was working on a calendar (cover) with the Norway Bears (Den Norske Bamseklubben) using images from classical Nordic paintings.

This calendar is also about safe sex with the motto "Bearback Yes! Bareback No!". From Antinoo's blog: "'Bearback Yes! Bareback No!' is a not-for-profit project financed by different Bear organizations at a national and international level, with the aim of promoting joint activities (such as publicity campaigns) with various social organizations, health institutions, networks of people living with HIV/AIDS, in the educational sphere and with relevant international agencies. Its aim is to promote prevention and safer sex through condom use, and to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS and members of social groups most vulnerable to the disease".

I need to make a correction; In a previous article I wrote entitled Antinoo Calendar - I mentioned about Antinoo (website), his calendar and his work he has done with the Mad Bears of Spain... ok no correction needed so far... however I go on to mention that the Norway Bears ~ Den Norske Bamseklubben ~ wrote an article about the calendar. I need to make a small rectification here... or this could also be considered an announcement:

Antinoo is going to be working with the Norway Bears and he is going to be making images using motifs from classical Nordic paintings (much like he did with the Mad Bears)... what Antinoo does is that he manipulates these images by placing cute Bears into the paintings. My bad for not getting the whole story straight... it's because I was pretty much guessing what this article from the Norway Bears was all about.

There is this very cool looking 2008 calendar involving Bears and very old paintings. Ok so it's already the middle of February but that should not stop you from picking up your own copy. It's a calendar done by photographer Antinoo (website) who works with the Mad Bears (musical front page) of Madrid, Spain.

They are known as 'Den Norske Bamseklubben' which means 'The Norwegian Bear Club'. They have an excellent webpage for you to browse norwaybears.com with pics and links and info about these cute European Bears. Most of the site is in Norwegian but there is some info in English as well.

After taking a look at their event, they are a very active club, and their next upcoming event is OctoBearfest - "an annual tradition for Norway Bears with the German Oktoberfest as inspiration". This will all be happening from October 20th - today - thru the 21st.

The Norway Bears are inviting you to their upcoming Nordic Bear Brotherhood event which will be taking place in Denmark from March 9th thru the 11th. Maximum to signup is 50, so best not sit on your hands if you plan on going to this and make sure you sign up asap.
