Roger's Nature Walk on YouTube (channel BearGhetti): "There is something that I have come to truly admire about Roger is his love for nature. I haven't met anyone else like him who is able to find the miracle in things that most people consider common. A simple nature walk becomes a glimpse into paradise".
This year I (Forrest - profile) dabbled into movie making. I have been working with Roger (galleries - profile) as well as a few others and what I've come to realize is I now fully appreciate the amount of work that goes into making a movie.
The hardest part for me is the editing. Writing the story and filming it is of course a lot of work, but it's the editing ~ sitting down and spending the whole day streaming the movie together into a coherent whole. I could work 12 hours on it and be lucky if I've completed a minute... or two (miracles of miracles). Of course I've never taken courses on movie making so it's a lot of learning, still... I think 'editor' should be the final credit seen at the end of a movie, not 'director'.
This section of Roger walking in the woods is a segment to a larger project. I am trying to work on this project as much as I can, but it's just trying to find the time. My goal for '09 is to work as much as I can and with a wing and a prayer, complete something for production.
Please let me know what you think of this 5 minute short of Roger in the woods. I think Roger has such a beautiful innocence about him that it instantly appears on camera.

You can thank me later for this website...
I'm betting that 99% of you guys out there don't know about this site... it's all about movies and there are very few people I know who do not like movies. The site is called Vidics.com and it's all about movies... and what is their logo? Movies Shall Be Free...
I'm sure some of you are going to go that site and think "wow, this is completely wrong" because all the movies that are there are available for free to watch. You don't need to download anything, you don't need to sign up to anything... you just click 'watch' and you're watching... and there's quite a few movies to choose from and I'm sure you'll be able to find one you'll like... and you'll be watching and saying at some point "wow... this is kinda cool"... however you might feel guilty because you're watching a movie without paying Blockbuster 6 bucks.
Thing is, Vidics is right... movies will be free... everything will be free with the internet. There's no stopping the machine now, unless there's a universal blackout and all computers shut down. Sure a couple of guys with clout can try and shut down Vidics, and they might even succeed, yet 3 new sites will replace Vidics... and once they close those 3... 9 others will replace them... and so on... and so forth... remember when they closed down Napster? It did absolutely nothing... actually what it did was made people aware they can download music for free, they just had to find different sources in which to do it.
So what will happen? The big wigs with the money will do what Google did with YouTube... they will eventually buy into sites like Vidics, because the big wigs are Yosemite Sam and Vidics is Bugs Bunny, and you might remember the skits in which Sam says in the end "if you can't beat 'em... join 'em"... Either the dumb big wigs will spend their money fighting this... and lose... or the smart big wigs will figure out on how to capitalize on it... and win.
Like I said, you can thank me later after you've watched a movie or 8... actually... you should thank BillyBear (TubeBear profile) who pointed it out to me. He doesn't have much on his profile yet but I'll bug the good looking bugger to add a few pics of his cute mug.
PS... make sure to make some popcorn...
