Come join some of the hottest Bears in the Midwest as they gather for the upcoming Michigan BearFest 5 which will be taking place in Grand Rapids, MI from November 7th thru the 9th. This event will be supporting BASIS which is a Flint, Saginaw and Bay City area HIV/AIDS charity. Head on over to their website for all the details such as hotel, calendar and registration.

What is up with the husky and extremely cute Canadian stand-up comic Richard Ryder (website - Myspace page - YouTube page - TubeBear profile)...? After his exposure on Last Comic Standing, he won a contest at a classic rock station Q107 as 'Funniest Person with a Day Job' and as one of the prizes he received a spot in the legendary Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. While in NYC, he worked at another few clubs like Stand Up New York and HA! Richard was also invited to be a part of Accent On Toronto, an annual comedy showcase put on by CBC Radio. He was asked to perform at his 1st Bear run in Buffalo with the Buffalo Bears. He stated that 'it was a lot of fun and they completely wore me out'.

This year, he plans to audition for Last Comic Standing again and he will be at the Michigan Gay & Lesbian Comedy Festival on March 8th.

Keep an eye out for more details and updates on his site - he also plans on giving a page a new look for 2008. As he states - he's a 'Stand-up Comedian... Supermodel... Bear'.

As they state, "Come rub fur with Bears from Ontario, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana". What's all this about? It's Wall-2-Wall Fur ~ Bear Conclave, an event which takes place in Detroit, MI from March 2nd thru the 4th. From their site again "This event seems to have taken on a life of it's own, with the cooperation of so many guys and clubs. The various Bear groups, all of which are no more than 2 hours from Detroit. This is the continuing effort of the Bear community working together in our area. Each group added something to the weekend and by that effort act as emissaries to the rest of the community. We get a massive turnout and everyone seems to have a good time.

So many guys kept asking, so we are going to do another W2WFB the second weekend of June. So put it on your calendar and come on down during pride month and get an armload of 'fur'!".
