There is this excellent site called El Abrazo Del Oso (which loosely translates to 'The Embrace of the Bear'). The 1st thing you will notice is that the t-shirt designs they have to offer are really nothing like you've seen before - in other words - wow. The 2nd thing you'll notice is just how cool their site is, but let's get back to the designs.

I sent off an email to them and I got a reply from Alejandro González (photo), and he was more than helpful to fill me in about who he is as well as his work. From Alejandro: "I work as a graphic designer illustrator and painter in Monterrey, Mexico. I have participated in several individual exhibitions here in Monterrey and Guadalajara Jalisco - the city in which I was born. I'm 34 years old and I work together with my partner in the diffusion of the illustrations and the site.

I started doing Bear illustrations for Bear events here in the city in 2006. 'El Abrazo del Oso' was originally supposed to be a Bear club and then we decided to make a brand out of it and offer Bear art for the Bear scene. 'El Abrazo del Oso' offers printed t-shirts from illustrations that we received from commissions for personal portraits, drawings and paintings as well as commercial artwork related to the Bear scene, publications and events, among other things".

Honestly, go take a look at their stuff and even commission them to do something for you. Their artwork is #1, and their site is just so breezy cool.

BearMex is coming out of its cave, or so this Mexican club states about their upcoming pool and garden party. The party is taking place on June 2nd, it's a whopping $ 190 Pesos and that includes a beer - nice. There is an indoor pool, a garden for sunbathing and games to be played. There will be Go-Go Bears and strippers. Looks like a ton of fun. Head on over to their site and check out more by looking around in their gallery and video sections.

It's an evening of Bears and Leather men in Monterrey, Mexico which is going to take place this upcoming Friday, february 23rd. I'm not sure exactly which group is organizing this but from what I can see it's happening at a bar called Evolución. More info can be found here.

There's a big part of me that just wants to jump into a taxi and tell the guy to let me off at the airport. Destination? Mexico. Why? So I can hang out with cute guys at Bears Week in Paradise.

Ok... back to reality. This event is actually taking place next week - from January 28th thru February 4th and it's taking place in 'beautiful tropical' Puerto Vallarta, Mexico... sigh... also, it might be too late to sign up, then again, it might not be. So if you're impulsive (which I'm not), head on over to that page and contact them to see if there is a space still open.

So what can you get for $110 Pesos? Tons of fun with the BearMex club. Join them as they gather for their Posada White Party in Mexico City (that would be in Mexico) this upcoming December 16th. On their venue are Go-Go Bears, Strippers and a surprise show. Ole brothers... and this is most likely unrelated but it's on their site and it's a great poster - Say Yes to BearBack and No to Bareback.
