We have some good news surrounding the 'Bear Run ~ The Movie' (website - article): if you missed seeing it on TV, then you can always purchase the DVD... however... by clicking this secret link you will save $5. That's a present from director Dan Hunt to you.

With the DVD you will get a much longer version of the movie, including extra stories surrounding the main characters Louie, Mikhael, Mike and their friends. There's also some Bear history and insights about the Bear community from the experts. You also get to see Louie's wild home movies. And there's more hot footage of Bears and Cubs at IBR, Lazy Bear, Bear Week at P-Town and Bear Trek.

If you didn't catch the premiere of Bear Run The Movie (article) on LOGO, you can still catch the reprise today (August 4th) and again on August 24th... or... even better... pick up your own DVD copy of this documentary that was directed by Dan Hunt.

This 'director's cut' DVD is now available from their site. From Got Fur?: "We've been oh so busy. We've been building leather links and the leather calendar over at The Twisted Bear. We have been making nice to all of our Bear friends to get them to donate items for the Silent Auction at Lazy Bear. And, we are packing up to head to the rodeo to wrangle some cowboys - Sierra Stampede Rodeo.

We will be making our debut on LOGO during movie night at Lazy Bear... well sort of. We are featured in the documentary 'Bear Run' which debuts on LOGO on August 2nd. This feature is produced and directed by Dan Hunt - who previously produced the 'In The Life' (PBS) story on the Bear community.

And for the record - you are a very naughty dirty Bear! In the last issue of Chewin' the Fat we gave away copies of 'Prime Cut IV' (website - article) and you told us you want more free naked Bears. Check out this week’s give away on Chewin’ the Fat for more naked Bears.  Did I mention naked Bears?  LOL".

On August 2nd, LOGO is premiering Bear Run, a documentary that celebrates the Bear community. This movie will be broadcasted throughout the month of August.

From the site: "Award-winning documentarian Dan Hunt has created a delightful, intimate - and surprising - portrait of what it means to be a maturing gay man in the new millennium. 'Bear Run' tracks the contemporary rituals, language, values  and evolving aesthetic of Bear culture, by following three characters  as they romp through the '06-'08 event circuit Bear Albany, International Bear Rendezvous, Bear Week – Provincetown, Bear Trek and Lazy Bear Weekend". The DVD will be available on August 2nd as well. Keep an eye out for more updates.

This is very simple - make me a banner for PlanetBears and you can win stuff. The winner will get a lifetime membership to the site including $100 and all those who participate are guaranteed a membership to the site for 1 year as long as I use your banner.

What you need to do is: create a banner - it has to be either 720x90 pixels or 250x250 pixels. I am also looking for a new logo for PlanetBears. You can make it in either .jpg, .gif or Flash .swf.

Also, you can use any of the photos I have attached here. Actually, those pics are kind of like a preview to the PlanetBears Galleries page, however you can use any or all of those photos in order to make a good looking banner. You cannot use any other photos (like a picture of your boyfriend or some hot photo you found online) and you don't need to use any photo at all ~ it's up to you ~ just make me a great looking banner and/or logo.

The winner will be determined by vote. I will place all the banners online and let guys vote on them.

I will put up more details about this contest as I work out the prizes (I will try to get some sponsors to send me some DVDs)... but the contest begins today - June 26th... and it will run right thru until August 1st, so it gives everyone a month to hand in their stuff.

You can make as many banners as you like.
