Could it be that Angry Alan...

... isn't so angry anymore...?

First off, Alan has a new look to his website. The biggest change (aside from the design) is his new focus on Bears. There's a great slideshow with some of the incredible photography he's taken of just the cutest Bearish men there are. One thing I truly appreciate about his work is that he takes full figured shots of his models; so you get to see their cute noses right down to their cute toeses (rhyme with noses...k?).

2ndly, he no longer mentions he's angry on his front page (altho he never did mention 'why' he was angry, only that it was a long story, and well, you don't want to anger someone who is already angry by asking questions of why he's angry... now do you...?). Instead, you get a great little bio about this hard working student, and after knowing a little more about (not so angry) Alan, I'm beginning to admire him more and more (maybe he'll change his site to admiringalan.com).

3rdly, he's got a great blog, and 4thly, you can say hello to him from his TubeBear profile ~ PolaroidCub.

Defining what is 'attractive' is... well... impossible, simply because no 2 people have the same taste in men. This being said, Jeff aka STPBear is attractive, plain and simple. Whether or not he turns you on, that's not the issue here... just that STPBear is one of the best looking Bearish models that I have come across.

He did a bit of modeling for BearFilms a few years back (you might remember seeing some photos of him in full leather, a business suit and in baseball gear). However, truth be told, I don't think I have come across any other photo sets since. I even met Jeff briefly when I was on a Bear Voyage cruise back in 2005. A really sweet guy and he's just as cute in person as he is in his photos.

I remember that I would have liked to seen more of STPBear - he's just so cute and cuddly... well lo and behold he has a Flickr page - tons of photos of him. He's also single from what I read, altho he's still very good friends with his ex-lover (another great guy as well).

Also check out his homepage (with some fetish gear photos) and LiveJournal. He's also the moderator to the Bears in Uniforms Yahoo!Group. I don't know if Jeff's Bear modeling days are over... I sure hope not... this man is hotter than Hades when he's fully geared up in leather, all the while he looks equally great in a pair of Speedos.

Charlie Hunter (website - LiveJournal) works with such confidence when he makes a piece of art. You can see it in the exquisite detail of his brushwork. Here at PlanetBears, I have spoken of his great drawings in the past (articles), yet today holds a very special meaning to me. Charlie sent in an excellent sketch of my partner, Roger (galleries - profile). All I can say is 'wow...'. Actually, I can write a hundred praise words, yet I will resort to the old saying - 'a painting is worth a thousand words' (this is the original drawing that Charlie used). When I showed the drawing to Roger, he said 'that's me... he really captured the essence of me'. And that's what a great artist can do; he captures almost a piece of the subject's soul and places it onto the canvass, making it come alive. So a huge thanks goes to Charlie for putting so much time and effort into a piece that Roger 'n I will cherish for the rest of our lives.

It wasn't too long ago when I mentioned in the news about the wonderful drawings found in Charlie's Sketch Book (website - blog - article). Since that article, I have gotten to chat with Charlie via email and what a great bloke he's turned out to be. He told me that he's planning a trip to Canada with a chance of us meeting up, and if we do meet up, he just might do a live sketching of Roger (galleries - profile) if he has the time. Make sure to check out his work, it's sheer talent mixed in with the love of art making.

His name is Charlie Hunter and he enjoys sketching... and his sketches are really out of this world - see for yourself at Flux Art. He has a knack for catching the essence of what a Bear is on paper. He pencils them in with such a fine detail that they are almost lifelike, and there's a few of his sketching that make it to paint, adding a whole other dimension with colour and depth.

There's not much about Charlie himself on either his site or on his blog, but you do find out what kind of man he is by the work he does, and he does some truly fine and excellent work. Go discover Charlie's sketching for yourself.

This is for all those who say they cannot lose weight... not even a little weight. Head on over to David aka PagerBear's website... this man went from 450 pounds to 195 pounds. Now I'm not sure how he lost all the weight since he doesn't mention it on his site, but what he's done is truly an incredible feat. I'm also not sure when he's updated his site last, but he does have a blog which he adds to regularly.

Now don't get me wrong - I like guys with weight. That's why I run a Bear site because my type of men are considered brawny, hefty, husky, heavy - what have you... however the guy needs to be healthy; not for me but for himself. There's a fine line... being turned on to bigger men means that most often they have a 'weight issue'. It seems that every guy I find cute tells me at some point that he needs to lose weight.

Anyhow - the real point about this article is that PagerBear went to the extremes. He was a whopping 450 pounds and he brought himself down to 195. So - if you're anywhere between those numbers and feel the need to shed a few pounds - either for health reasons or simply for aesthetic reasons - use PagerBear as your poster Bear model, and say to yourself - 'he did it... so can I'... however... if you're happy with your weight and you feel healthy, then by all means, enjoy life and enjoy the fact that some guys like me are going to get turned on by your huskiness.

Dart is the webmaster for BearBound, the site that's all about Bears in bondage and has some of the best looking Bearish men tied up in all kinds of interesting positions. Before you got to know Dart a bit better via his old LiveJournal blog and he also has a TubeBear profile. Well now he has his very own site - Dart's Domain. There's a few picture galleries, some links, a new blog and he is now doing podcasts which you can grab (his 1st one is in 2 parts). It also looks like he will be having videos but that's still 'in construction'.

Friday signifies updates over at BearBound. There are 3 new photo sets, 2 new video clips as well as a graphic series updated once a month drawn by MancerBear (website - TubeBear profile). You will start to find some bound PlanetBears models in their galleries (so far MogwaiCub - gallery - as well as Sasha - gallery) so if you are into bondage, then you will see only their 'bound' photo sets. Back in July, 2 cute 'Cubs' (or 1 Cub, 1 Freek) started up their own show and posted it on LiveJournal. The show is called Cubby Talk and it's inhibited, intelligent, as well as a touch controversial yet there there is also a good blend of wit and humour mixed in.

Now I am only on Episode #2 but they have so far made 5 episodes (their most recent show posted on December 19th) including blooper and 'on location' videos, but I am quickly becoming a fan of their work and plan on bookmarking this page so as to get caught up in their shows and then keep an eye out for hopefully further updates. What I enjoy about this is that these guys are non-pretentious while a little 'in your face' but not enough to dislike them. Actually, the more I watch, the more I am fond of these 2 guys. As well, Joe (Jojo - LJ profile) and Matt's (The Freek, The Gay Monkey Bear Boy - LJ profile) personalities clash so beautifully on camera that they truly compliment each other even when they 'agree to disagree'. Oh, and they are both very easy on the eye.

Go grab yourself a coffee and login to an episode of Cubby Talk (and here is they YouTube page as well). I'm pretty sure you'll get hooked too.

Bears on the Run is now over... check out their site for their travel logs as well as videos and other stuff. They also mention on their site that they are planning to do an east coast tour in the spring.

I've had a few people emailing me about my blog site - for the record - PlanetBears is not a blog site... nor was bear-pics before that... nor was BearPress. I've always loosely considered these sites as news sites... but then again... I'm not a journalist.

Blogging has been around since the net has been around, but it truly became popular around '99 or so when LiveJournal opened it's doors. LJ opened in March '99, I opened BearPress in May '99, however my main focus was Bear news (yet I would write a bit about my life, or let loose in a section I called 'Deep Thoughts'... so I guess I was blogging). Blogger opened its doors in August 1999, and since then blogging is incredibly popular - everyone seems to be running a blog ("as of September 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 106 million blogs" from Wiki). This being said, there are some blogs which are more popular than others... of course.

One big blog site to check out - if you're interested in gay porn - is Gay Porn Blog. Now you will definitely not find much info about Bears but there are some models which are furry - yet 99% of these furry guys are tanned and muscular as well. So if you're a Bear who digs muscles, then check out this highly active blog page. But if the only kind of man you like looking at has a size 40+ waist, then this is one blog site that was not meant for you.

Meet Dart, a good looking slim and trim Wolf who enjoys the company of husky brawny Bears. Dart also has an affinity for bondage, role playing and... he looks frikkin' hot in leather. Dart is a lot a like me (Forrest ~ profile) in that we both have this 'thing' for tying up bigger men.

Now many of you might think that guys into BnD are 'bad' people... or something... however this is definitely not the case. Dart is a really nice guy and you can learn a lot about him from reading his LiveJournal page. He's intelligent, humane and quite witty.

Dart is the man behind the ever popular BearBound website. BearBound is updated once a week with 3 new galleries of husky Bears being bound in all kinds of interesting ways and there's also a couple of new short clips videos added to boot.

If you've been reading my stuff for awhile now, then you might know a few of my 'things' (I'd call them fetishes but that sounds so clinical... I prefer 'thing'). I have a thing for men's feet, always have, ever since I was little. A lot of guys who buy memberships to the gallery section say they bought one because I take a lot of shots of the good looking Bear's feet. Other sites show pics from the dick up where I like to take full body shots ~ from head to their furry little toes.

I actually met Michael awhile back when he was visiting his sick mother (I know, extremely cute and a heart the size of Texas). A really superb guy. This is the 3rd edition of Live from Texas Bear Round Up. In this show, their guest is ShelbyCub. From the site: "Michael and I did an in-studio recording. We just came from watching Cirque du Soleil - Corteo. It was awesome! More TBRU audio! This time, we have William on board. Now here is a site you can easily lose yourself for hours ~ even a lifetime ~ if you take such concepts as 'Bear' literally ~ as in humans becoming animals... or vice versa... or there's a morph between man and beast, and a lot of these morphed beast look a bit like a bear (or bearish in nature and wolfish too ~ grr). This is what's going on at FurNation.com. I have watched this site go from a little 'fan' site into what it is now, something that is wild and exciting. Just visit the galleries (warning: there are a LOT of pictures) and blogs and stuff. Personally, I like real men that could be leashed for a few hours and growl at me and 'think' they are a wild beast, but hey, that's me.

"Woof... what a Bear... Woof... what a Bear..."

That's how they greet you over at the BearPodCast, a podcast hosted by the man with the softest masculine voice on the net - 'the Nard' (LJ page) and his husky hunky pal ExcaliBear (LJ page).

This week Nard chats up with singer and songwriter Nakia (website). They discuss his new CD 'Playing the Cards' (CD available with samples here at CDBaby - and here's an excellent song for you to download - Texas Crescent Moon). I've been having these fantasies of Nakia singing only to me with only leather chaps on... is this wrong, doctor...?

And I gotta say, these podcasts shows are kind of like 'online heroin'... you listen to one and you need another one quick. Thankfully the guys over at BearPodCast keep churning them out real quick (I wonder if there is help for this, like P.A. ~ Podcast Anonymous... or something).

If you like watching guys sing at Bearapalooza, then head on over to James' (aka Devil) YouTube page entitled AmericanBadBear Studios. I then did a bit of searching and saw he also has a Livejournal page as well as a Flickr page. So far, there's quite a lot of stuff to check out.

Then I did a bit more searching and found an interview/chat he had with the guys at Foul Monkeys back in May '06 (here). What was interesting to find out is that AmericanBadBear Studios will be about Bears and Chub porn... someday. I check the site AmericanBadBear.com and there's nothing up there, and it'll be a year since that interview so maybe there won't be any porn, maybe there will be. We're just going to have to wait and see what the Devil has in store for us.
