We have some good news surrounding the 'Bear Run ~ The Movie' (website - article): if you missed seeing it on TV, then you can always purchase the DVD... however... by clicking this secret link you will save $5. That's a present from director Dan Hunt to you.

With the DVD you will get a much longer version of the movie, including extra stories surrounding the main characters Louie, Mikhael, Mike and their friends. There's also some Bear history and insights about the Bear community from the experts. You also get to see Louie's wild home movies. When I first started doing Bear news back in '99, there was one site that I used to mention so often since it was updated a lot, and that was Lynn Ludwig's site ShutterBear.com (articles). Over the years, however, Lynn has been fighting hard with his health. Yet even tho his health has been challenging him, he still makes it out to Lazy Bear Weekend.

Now it's my bad for not mentioning this earlier since he added the photos back in August, but you gotta check out his pictures from Lazy Bear '08. Lynn's photos are one of the reasons why I started working in the Bear world because he was one of the very first who took pictures of the very best Bearish looking men. And you can always tell a Lynn Ludwig photo because he seems to capture the best in every man that strikes a pose for him. His images are bright and full of life, and the inner beauty of the men shines thru, bringing forth their outer beauty as well. It's a beautiful thing.

The following is from Lynn's news page: "So at least I made it out one more day and a few more hours at Lazy Bear '08; and that continues to be the limit of my events activities once again. But my garden is looking great and that activity continues to provide its own rewards. Still, it bums me out That a new 5 drug cocktail hasn't fixed everything. Blood work looks good, but a nasty pneumonia, a scary drug interaction, a fainting spell along with a damaged heart, a compressed spine and more drag me down and prey upon my spirit. Losing my cat and very best friend hasn't help. Enjoy the photos - what I can do does sustain me and I am always hopeful I will be able to do more down the long and winding road".

From Got Fur?: "We've been oh so busy. We've been building leather links and the leather calendar over at The Twisted Bear. We have been making nice to all of our Bear friends to get them to donate items for the Silent Auction at Lazy Bear. And, we are packing up to head to the rodeo to wrangle some cowboys - Sierra Stampede Rodeo.

We will be making our debut on LOGO during movie night at Lazy Bear... well sort of. We are featured in the documentary 'Bear Run' which debuts on LOGO on August 2nd. This feature is produced and directed by Dan Hunt - who previously produced the 'In The Life' (PBS) story on the Bear community.

And for the record - you are a very naughty dirty Bear! In the last issue of Chewin' the Fat we gave away copies of 'Prime Cut IV' (website - article) and you told us you want more free naked Bears. Check out this week’s give away on Chewin’ the Fat for more naked Bears.  Did I mention naked Bears?  LOL".

For the past year or so, I've been visiting Lynn Ludwig's website ShutterBear and what I've been missing is his occasional update of pictures he's taken of good looking men at Bear runs. The thing about websites such as Lynn's is that they are labours of love so you can only hope that you'll go there to find an update of cute guys in Speedos.

I then noticed only today on the top of his page a message stating 'where I've been this year'. This is what he has to say: "So for a year I have been out of the picture, absent from events and not necessarily reliable with email. The saddest of truths is that my heart has not been up to the challenge - and I mean that literally; my spirit hasn't wavered. It's been a tough time and its not over yet, but I am on the upswing. Lazy Bear 2006 was my first visit event since Lazy Bear 2005 and there will be more, but I will need to be selective about my activities for the foreseeable future. I'll explain more as we go along".
