The Hairrison Street Fair (website - poster) is coming once again, it's just around the corner, and it's gonna be big. It's their 5th year doing this and it's all taking place in San Francisco over the Labour Day Weekend ~ August 31st.

Not only that, but it's gonna be Bear Week soon as well. A full 10 days of Bear bustin' events starting August 23rd and running right thru until September 1st.

"The Hairrison Street Fair and San Francisco Bear Week are organized by PrideWorks, a California non-profit corporation. It is a celebration of Bear community pride but is welcoming to all - we like to say 'The Bears are having a party and we want everyone to come!'. The fair and events during the week support different LGBTI community organizations. The fair raises more money per capita than any other gay fair in San Francisco. We also organize Team Bear (articles) which raises funds for AIDS services. Last year the team raised $150,000 and our goal this year is to raise over $250,000!".

Right at this very moment there's a lot happening over in San Francisco with Hairrison Street Fair - Bear Week going on. Check out their excellent looking site for all the things they have planned for this upcoming week, and yes they have a lot of things planned. Press Release: "Hairrison Street Fair - Bear Week starts saturday with over 3 dozen events in San Francisco, CA! Since the very beginning, the idea was for the Hairrison fair to be a centerpiece of a whole bunch of fun, good-spirited events, something that would compliment, not compete, with other Bear events and allow lots of other groups and businesses to participate. These 'other' events now span 10 days and nights with dozens of events at bars, clubs, restaurants, dance halls, theaters - even busses and a palace! The week begins on Saturday afternoon with the South Bay Bears beer bust at the Lone Star. Then in the evening is the Hairrison Opening Night Party at The Grind and across the street is KumaSF presents Basket. With a Hairrison Charity Bear Tag you'll get into The Grind for free and Basket at a discount. You'll also get free and discounted admission and other savings and the commemorative Hairrison tshirt with your Bear Tag purchase plus our coupon book good for freebies and savings at local bars, restaurants and merchants. Discounted rates are available in out host hotel for Bear Tag holders. Proceeds from Bear Tag sales help us support our charity partners.

DJ Reed, aka ToolBeltBear, was our featured TubeBear Bear just a short while back (article here - TubeBear profile) and he's now inviting us to his upcoming Maximus Cigar and Pipe socials (TubeBear profile). Put down your smoke and get a pen as you jot down these following days, time and places: On August 24th, they will be at the Sidewinders Bar in Cathedral City, CA for a beer bust and cigar social. Then on August 25th, they are heading on over to The Barracks bar.

They will also be participating in the Hairrison Street Fair in San Francisco. During Labour day weekend, meet up with the rest of men and the Bears for an afternoon at the Lone Star Saloon on September 1st.
