BEAR Magazine has their latest summer issue out - (issue #71 - front - back - wonder if anyone has every single issue - now there's a collection to own!)... and guess who is their cover Bear... why it's Tom Chase! Yes, the same hottie Chase you've seen in Colt spreads from days of yore. Well, some men age better than others and Tom is looking quite adorable with his new found Bearness. Colt Studio Group has announced their all-new desktop calendar for 2009. As they state: "Spruce up your computer with your favorite Colt man and never have to flip through your organizer to find out what the date is again!". This is an update concerning the websites that were using the Ning platform and were ordered to shut down all their sections that were adult in nature (you can read more about all this from our archived articles). Well I received an email which illuminated certain areas to this story which I wasn't aware of. But before I get into that, I'd like to first mention a few sites that were affected by Ning's decision and where they are now.

1st off, the 'Got Fur?' website had already moved their stuff over back in December and things have been fine for them at their new home with Grou.ps. Their new effort is called Bears in the Woods.

The next site is ChubSpot and they have been having issues re-opening up. They have changed their date of re-open at least a half a dozen times so far. On their site now they mention that they will 'probably' open their site before February 20th.

The 3rd site is BearZone and it's from their newsletter that I received a few eye openers in regards to what Ning did. Once Ning allowed adult content, eventually members started uploading more and more x-rated videos.

From their newsletter: "The problem is that more than enough of these videos were professionally done porn videos from studios such as Falcon, Titan, Colt, etc. Everyone quickly found out that this is very much frowned upon. These companies started contacting Ning of the copyright infringing and many sites were shut down, and many site owners, and site members are now being sued.

Ning decided they'd take drastic measures and just delete all the sites with adult content from their servers in effort to keep Google investors happy.

We had to work closely with (Ning) and keep pressuring them to give us a way to export more than 30,000 members profiles, and all their pictures, videos, blog posts, comments, favorites, profile information, etc. Eventually, they did, but it wasn't a format that made any sense. So we had our programmer hack up some code to import and translate the information and content.

To make matters worse, Ning shut us down early. They didn't keep their word, and we could not import every member. We could not import any of the videos, music, and some other replaceable but sucks to lose content".

The meaning to 'Bear' is still up for interpretation. It means many different things to many different people. For some, a Bear is a guy who husky and chunky and gruffy ~ your plumber with his plumber's crack. To others, it's guys working out in the gym who don't shave their facial hair. Bear is at times exclusive, at times inclusive, and we don't always agree when it comes to what is a 'Hot Bear'.

Saying all this ~ the guys over at Manifest Men, in my humble opinion, are not classified as Bears. They are more Atlas-type men, Colt models, however there's a few of them that border on the Bear. It could be a look in their face or the shape of their body, but some have 'Bearish' qualities... yet overall they are mostly muscle men.

Still, I have a few previews which you can see here, and here's a video. These guys are cute, yet not really my cup of tea ~ I will always prefer the hunky chunky plumber Bear with his crack or the older Daddy Bear who played football decades ago during his college days. However I also realize that it's not all about my taste, and there's some Bearish men who read this site that will get turned on by the Manifest Men guys... but I will never post news about twinks... muscle men is as far as I will go.

The beauty about life is diversity. Here at PlanetBears you find husky guys, sometimes guys with nice sized guts, guys that look like they use to play football back in their college years, guys that could be the plumber you've always dreamed of.

And then you have sites like Colt Studio Group - here masculinity is presented in a whole other manner. These guys spend a lot of time on their bodies, toning and shaping... yet what's great about the Colt men is a lot of them are hairy, and some of them have that husky football build as well. In any account, I know there's a lot of Bear lovers who like Colt models, so here's a few photos they sent in, and to see some movie previews, check out this link. Have you ever seen a real good looking Bearish man wearing pink and then you say to yourself - hot damn, that man is hot... in pink...! I believe not everyone can wear pink and have it work, but the men that can pull fuchsia off always seem to be the best looking Bears.

This brings me to the following blog ~ Bear Delights. Now don't let this pinkish webpage fool ya into thinking this isn't a man's man site. This site is all fur, muscle and Bear... it's actually quite hardcore in relation to the other Blogspot's I've come across. Most of the men on this site are these tight MuscleBear kind of guys ~ something like Colt and ButchBear, so if that's your thing, then check it out. And remember - real men wear pink!
