Here is the 3rd and final installment to Christophe Jannin's triptych of ArchAngels (blog - articles - profile - website). It is St. Raphael who has the ribbon 'contraria contrario curantur' which signifies 'the opposites are healing the opposites". This drawing is symbolizing healing and self improvement.

What I need to do is post the emails that Christophe has sent me. They go into a lot more details about the semiotics concerning these 3 archangels (St. Raphael - St. Michael and St. Gabriel). I'll do that in the next update. Also, Christophe said he's not done drawing angels. He's working on others however these 3 make up the triptych. I'll keep you informed about his 'holy' drawings as he sends them in.

This is the 2nd installment to Christophe Jannin's triptych with ArchAngels as his theme (drawing). In the 1st installment, we saw his St. Michael, sword in hand fighting the powerful for the sake of the weak. In this update, we get to see his St. Gabriel with a ribbon reading 'corruptio optimi pessima' which translates as 'the corruption of the best is the worst of all'; He's here to protect the innocent from the corrupt (I would love to have a guardian angel that looked like him).

Now for all the links concerning Christophe - blog (French), articles, profile, website (in construction) and some pics (photo #1, photo #2, photo #3).

Christophe Jannin's (profile) work has been getting more and more intricate with time and his drawings more detailed and rich with life and colour, all the while holding true to his Bearish roots.

His latest project is quite angelic, literally. Chris has been drawing an Archangel triptych with Gabriel, Michael and Raphael, and the 1st one for us to see is that of Michael (view here). On it reads "Parcere subjectis et debellare superbos" which means "Spare the weak, crush the powerful", a direct reference to what St. Michael's nature signifies.

We will post the other 2 from this set very soon, however make sure to visit his site and read his blog (in French) which goes into much more detail about these wonderful vivid drawings of his. And if you're French is a bit rusty, then join his mailing list and he'll send you these new drawings to you in your email and in English as well. Also take a look at past articles written of him. Chris is seriously one of the cutest artists alive, yes?

Artist Christophe Jannin (articles - blog - profile - website) sends in some updates as he plans for his upcoming exhibition in Lyon (France) which will be taking place at 'Le Station B' from July 25th thru August 15th (flyer).

From Christophe: "Winter is here in New Zealand, bloody freezing, stormy, rainy, haily. I am now counting the days before I leave to go to France for the holidays. Taking off on Tuesday night and landing in Paris on Wednesday 8 in the evening. About 22 hours flying, roughly a 30 hours trip with the stop in Singapore.

I have just finished my latest drawing entitled 'The Rite of Spring' (full image). A drawing full of optimism and very pastoral, the format is in the 'Italian way', meaning horizontal which is very unusual for me since I prefer a vertical format. In fact, physically it's two drawings, composed as a diptych but reunited with the colour version".

It's high time you familiarize yourself with the excellent art work drawn by the French Bear artist Christophe Jannin (website - blog - TubeBear profile - PlanetBears articles). Now I know I mention the fact that Chris is as cute as his artwork, the simple fact is that it's true.

Christophe sends in his newest artwork. From Chris: "I have just finished 'Gilles de Rais arriving in Orleans' (click here to see the full version). Gille de Rais is flamboyant here. He was a real historic character, marshal of France and a Joan of Arc companion with whom he liberated the city of Orleans during the 100 years war against the English in he first half of the 15th century. You might know him under his nickname 'Blue Beard'. He was condamned and hanged for the crimes of felony, murder and sodomy. Yes he was gay!

As for my upcoming schedule, I have 2 upcoming exhibitions in France, one in Lyon from July 25th thru August 15th at the StationB, and the one one in Orleans at the cinema "Les Carmes" from September 23rd until October 12th for the Gay and Lesbian Films Festival. The title of this is called ' From Auckland, Bears, at the end of the world...".

The following is from Christophe Jannin (website - blog - TubeBear profile - PlanetBears articles): "Here's a new drawing I am sharing with you. It's Michel Strogoff (drawing here), Jules Verne's hero. Some symbols are visible in this drawing and are directly linked to the behaviour of the Chinese army in Tibet (I say army, not Chinese people). The flame shows that it's not always symbol of hope, it can be the symbol of blind violence, this flame which reminds the heated saber used to blind Michel Strogoff. Also the flame of the Olympic torch... the iron collar and chain, symbol of the constraint by force, the rope, symbol of the privation of freedom, all these values I cherish so much. Two Masonic symbols are in the drawing but you'll have to find them by yourself.

About my actuality, the second half of the year is going to be full of events. First, I will be in France in July and August and will have two exhibitions, one in Lyon and one in Orleans during the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival where I've been invited. I will do for this occasion, the poster. A publishing is planned for the end of the year and also the start of a big project, but I will talk about it later".

French artist Christophe Jannin (website - blog page - TubeBear profile) has sent in his latest piece. It's entitled Lonely (The Missed Call).

It's another excellent drawing - this time Christophes explores a little darker mood than he usually draws - a good looking Bear sitting by his cell phone... did he miss the call... did he do it on purpose (since it is a cell phone, it should be with him at all times). However, altho the mood is a little more sombre, the drawing itself is still very vibrant and full of life, the sun shining through in the back, and the Bear is beautiful.

Seeing is believing, and you have to take a look at Christophe's newest piece of Bear artwork entitled The Four Elements (hi-res ~ lo-res). It's actually 4 pieces in one with a different Bearish guy representing one of the 4 elements (fire, water, air and earth).

My fave is air - maybe because I'm a Libra and air is my element. However, they are all excellently detailed and Christophe's work is almost Bear perfect... oh... and Christophe himself is almost Bear perfect - just check out his TubeBear profile to see a pic of this handsome Frenchman turned New Zealander. Also visit his site and read up on his latest adventures by visiting his blog page (in French).

Who is Christophe Jannin? Well you can first find out who this excellent artist is by visiting his website, then discover even more intimate details about this handsome husky drawer by taking a look at his blog (in French), and you can even scour the archives of PlanetBears to see what we've had to say about him (and here are some pics of him - pic #1 - pic #2 - and make sure to also check out his TubeBear profile).

Christophe has recently finished a new drawing. From Christophe: "Soon the Rugby World Cup will begin in France. I thought - and some told me too - that doing an illustration based on this event would be a good idea. So here it is. It is called All Black. It's not a portrait of a any of the players, simply an idealisation. I hope you'll appreciate it".

Christophe is also announcing that he has an upcoming Parisian art exhibition which will be happening from October 1st thru the 28th at Blue Book Paris Bookshop. He will be later posting the date to the opening party when you can meet, chat, have a drink and look at his drawings.

Sometimes it's very hard for me to choose which I find more impressive - Christophe Jannin's artwork or his good looks. He's an excellent artist who has been rediscovering his love to draw Bearish artwork, and the guy is as cute as the images he draws. I know I've said that before but it definitely needs repeating.

He is a French artist living in New Zealand and to learn more about him, check out his recently redesigned website as well as his blog (which is in French) and he also has a TubeBear profile.

He has finished a new drawing entitled Maui who is a Maori God. Click here to see the full version and here to see a closer view of Maui himself, and click here to see a nice shot of this handsome drawer.

Also, check out this blog called Bear's Paws ~ Patte D'Ours - an English/French site which focuses mainly on Bear artists. There is an interview with Christophe in French altho most articles of the other articles are translated.

Christophe is also announcing that he has an upcoming Parisian art exhibition which will be happening from October 1st thru the 28th at Blue Book Paris Bookshop. He will be later posting the date to the opening party when you can meet, chat, have a drink and look at his drawings.

Look who's in the 'Kitchen Sink' in the upcoming Beef Mag June/July #31 issue...? Why it's TubeBear. This is what they wrote: "Our buddy, Forrest from over at PlanetBears has been a busy guy, developing a new project, which he's called TubeBear.

Forrest tells us 'TubeBear is going to be several things, a profile site for one, a chat site, a webcam chat site - all of these sections are functional and in play - and soon people will be able to post their videos much like YouTube and we will also be puttin on live shows'.

WOOF! Sounds hot, and I can think of more'n a few dozen burly hunks who should be puttin' on daily shows on TubeBear.com, as I'm sure you guys can".

Make sure to check out the Beef Mag website and you can order your own subscription from there.

I want to thank the guys over at Bear-Buddies and Christophe Jannin for the drawings.

Artist Christophe Jannin has a brand new version to his website. New design, new colours, and new drawings. From his site: "After many changes of my mind in 2005, and postponed the new version of my website, being discouraged, changed the design many times, thought again the ergonomics and even thought about not doing anything at all, the fire came back in 2006 and I did new 'Bear' drawings".

His drawings are excellent and vibrantly full of life and colour. Christophe also drew a cute Bear holding a camcorder for TubeBear (see full image here). It's just incredible what he can do. Oh, and not only is he talented but he's just as cute as the guys he draws (I believe someone needs to draw him). Check out his TubeBear profile as well as his BearWWW profile.

Things are moving along great over at TubeBear.com ~ the brother site to PlanetBears. Over 200 profiles already and we've only been opened up since the beginning of May. And right now there is a promotion - make a profile and add 10 pics and you will get a membership to the gallery section here at PlanetBears which means you get to browse thousands of pics of good looking Bears.

Also, we've been working hard coming up with ideas on how to connect men who admire Bears with the Bears they admire. There's a ton of work to do but we have a lot of great things in store such as more profile options, contests and giveaways and live shows. Right now we're still at that stage of just putting the pieces together and it's never easy in making things simple, but we're right here and our focus is to make TubeBear the #1 site for men who call themselves Bears and those who love chatting with them.

So, create a profile, post 10 pics, then email me ~ Forrest ~ or private message me from my profile and I'll set up a membership for you so you can dive into the galleries of good looking men. There's already a bunch who have taken advantage of this promotion. It's simple to add 10 pics and the reward is tenfold.

ps - thanks to Christophe Jannin (website - blog) for the TubeBear artwork. The drawing isn't completed yet (it still needs to be coloured in) but it's just such an honour to have such a talented guy such as Chris ~ and so very cute too - here's his TubeBear profile ~ to be collaborating his time and effort with us. So thanks a bunch.

This is a continuation to precedding 'Dominique Hé ~ Marc Mathieu' article. Bear artist Christophe Jannin (blog) ~ the one who introduced me to Dominique Hé's work ~ created his own version of Marc Mathieu as an homage to whom he calls one of his favourite artists. Marc is definitely much more of a Bear and beefier in Christophe's version. It's an excellent rendition. See more of Christophe's work here from his website and contact him via his BearWWW profile.

Talent is something that should never be wasted, and it's great when I can click on Christophe Jannin's blog and see yet another excellent Bear drawing pour forth from this highly talented and very good looking guy (Christophe's BearWWW profile). His latest one he's coloured in is called Monarchs Migration and the next one he'll be colouring in is called Marc Mathieu.

I think someone needs to sit Christophe down and let that someone draw him ~ or maybe I should teleport him over here to Canada for a photo shoot. I'll be good.

Check out his professional website where you'll find more of his work and learn more about this husky artist. He also does websites. He's my hero.

Usually I see an artist's work before I actually see the artist (kind of like hearing a song on the radio first then seeing what the band looks like after). In this case, when I saw Christophe Jannin's Bearwww profile, something inside me made these kinds of sounds - grrz - wooferz - heavius pantius. Once my insides stopped swooning, I then checked out Chris' webpage to find out he's an incredibly talented artists who has done some very good Bear drawings (among other things). He also makes websites. Take a good look around his site to get to know him a bit better and if your French is up to par, then check out his blog as well.
