It's been awhile since I've reported anything from the Bear With Me cartoon world... it seems that Mo has cut off all her hair and it's taking everyone by surprise. And that's what I love about Bruin's cartoon, is that no matter what's the story line, it's just so great to have Bruin's comics to check out every Monday. Bruin has been doing it now for 5 or 6 years, maybe even longer. There's something to be said about being consistent, and Bruin is, to me, Shultz and Disney all wrapped up in one, with an added ingredient: Bears...

Getting away from the daily hustle to take a moment to catch up on the latest Bearish cartoons, let's start with Rondall's 'Becoming Blizzard' (website - articles). His S&M series is now wrapped up - Bob was able to track down Blizzard and was able save the day!

Then with Bruin's 'Bear With Me' (website - articles), looks like Paul has to face his family once again. From Bruin: "Paul's assault case is going to trial. This event will take him back to Pennsylvania, but it looks as though Andy won't be going along. Is this evidence of a gulf widening between them? Is Paul facing down his demons, or giving Andy notice? Is he being practical or cruel? All will be answered in time, gentle readers".

I gotta say, Andy of 'Bear With Me' (website - articles) has a little bit of that 'worse for wear' look going on, what with the crazy hair, the housecoat and the hangover. From Bruin (TubeBear), the cartoonist: "No one loves to see you suffer quite like your mother. It provides an opportunity to work her Mother Majiks and make everything aaaallll better... and to tell you 'I told you so'...".

Are you feeling a bit like Andy from 'Bear With Me'  (website - articles)...? Indulged a little too much with the turkey over the weekend... partied like Tiger Woods? Actually, Andy doesn't look this way because he was partying. It was because he was trying to drink his sorrows away. From Bruin (TubeBear), the artist: "There is a price to pay for over-indulging, and Andy is paying in spades. He's hurting big time, and unfortunately, there is no relief in sight". 'Bear With Me' is updated every Monday.

Just when Andy was ready to make the wedding plans, seems his partner Paul needs a bit more time to reflect. Ever since Paul has gotten out of the hospital, he's been seeing life a little differently, however those around him are doing their best to remind him what's best for him. From Bruin (TubeBear), the creator of the most excellent weekly cartoon 'Bear With Me' (website - articles): "- Mae might not be the most empathetic health practitioner around, but she's knows when something's up.  Paul's sending out weird vibes and Mae wants to know what's what.  It's no surprise that she takes exception to Paul's stance; what is surprising is how Paul is able to stand up to her, and how Mae is willing to hold her silence.  Her aim's still pretty good, though".

Let's get caught up with the latest Bear cartoons, shall we...? First off, it seems that not all is well in Paradise over at Bear With Me (website - articles) by Bruin (TubeBear). Now that Andy and Paul are safe and back at home, and after they announced their wedding, seems Paul is suffering from more bouts of insecurity. Will he be able to overcome them?

Now as we know move over to the Becoming Blizzard (website - articles), the cartoon by Rondall, Blizzard's new boyfriend comes thundering into the home of an S&M couple in hopes to save Blizzard from possible sadomasochistic dangers. Looks like Bob is right on time, too.

Bob means business! He's breaking down doors in order to save his man Blizzard from being tied and tortured by a Daddy who doesn't take no for an answer. It's the continuing saga of Becoming Blizzard, an excellent Bear cartoon done by Randall.

Over at Bear With Me, things are beginning to get back to normal now that Paul and Andy are reunited, with a new storyline surely on its way. And for all you French Bears out there, Bruin (TubeBear) has informed me that Mmarvin has been translating his strip to French - see the strip here and go here for his main site.

And if you are a cartoonist doing Bear toons, or you're just a Bear who does cartoons, let me know and I'll be glad to post it here in the news.

When the world feels like it's weighing down on you, what better medicine than a Bearish cartoon...

Let's start with Bear With Me (website - articles). Here's a little write-up by cartoonist Bruin (TubeBear) about his latest issue: "Nurse West is putting Paul through his paces without breaking a sweat.  He's hurtin', but he's becoming even more buff than when he started".

Heading over to Becoming Blizzard (website - articles) by Rondall, it seems that Blizzard has found himself in a position which he really doesn't want to be in, and he's hoping that Bob - his 'Bear in shining armour' - will come and rescue him soon. Can Bob figure out the clues and save Blizzard on time?

Time to catch up with the Bearish cartoons, starting with Bear With Me (website - articles) drawn by Bruin (TubeBear). Now that Paul and Andy are back together again and that Ed has his piercing, keep an eye out for a new storyline. Now over to Rondall's cartoon - Becoming Blizzard (website - articles) - and brother looks like Blizzard has found himself in a 'ménage a trois' he didn't see coming. Will Bob - his knight in shining armour - save the day?

The following is from Bruin (profile), the cutey cartoonist behind the great 'Bear With Me' (website - articles):

"After an arduous climb, Ed has made his way up to the tattoo/piercing parlor and is set to make an appointment to get his ear pierced. While the people who work at such establishments look exotic, we discover that, at base, they are as normally out-of-whack as the rest of us".

The following is from Bruin (profile), cartoonist for 'Bear With Me' (website - articles): "This week's installment marks the beginning of a new story arc, as Ed decides he's going to get an ear pierced. Everybody has a mid-life crisis. Some people get a flashy sports car, others get a trophy mate, Ed goes for conservative body alteration. What can I say? He's a wild man". Make sure to check out 'Bear With Me' as it is updated every Monday.

The following is from Bruin (profile) of 'Bear With Me' (website - articles): "There are a couple of things revealed in this week's strip: #1 - The callous disregard Karl and his father show to those they consider weak and unable to contribute to their needs, and; #2 - Paul's newly discovered self-assertiveness. The first is absolutely chilling, considering how Mr. Lynde and Karl virtually abandoned Mrs. Lynde in her final hours, while the second produces cheers all around".

Here I go again with the apologies, however I'm still playing catch up. There's been quite a few things happening that's been taking all of my attention.

Ok, here are a couple of blurbs written up by cartoonist Bruin (profile) about his excellent 'toon 'Bear With Me' (website - articles). First write-up is in relation to the June 1st strip: "here is a duality within each of us: How we envision ourselves, and how we wish we could be. Paul is realizing that, with his current self-image, he cannot overcome his fears and doubts, but teamed up with the confidence, strength and determination that he'd like to have, he has the potential to overcome his inner demons. Would that our own dreamscapes were so therapeutic".

And here is the write-up for the June 8th strip: "In his dream, Paul confronts his father and brother, who embody all his childhood fears and traumas; only this time, emboldened by his new-found confidence, the outcome is different than it has been in the past... and far more cathartic. Go get 'em, Paul!".

The following is from Bruin of 'Bear With Me' (website - articles - profile): "Paul continues in his dreamscape. He has fallen into a pit of despair, and only the dashing Capt. Hirsute can save him. However, considering his luck dealing with Paul's father and brother, there is a question as to whether the Captain is 'real' enough to catch Paul. The current strip answers that question, while raising another: Who 'is' Capt. Hirsute under the mask? Is it Andy? If not Andy, then who?".

The past few episodes of  'Bear With Me' (website - articles) have been spent introducing a flying Captain Hirsute, the masked superhero in Paul's dreams. Last week, the Captain sensed danger and flew to the aid of a citizen. This week, he is in for a big surprise once he realizes he is a superhero ghost...?

Cartoonist Bruin (profile) asks us: "Will the Captain intervene? Will the villains suffer? How will the hapless citizen thank his hero? For the answer to these and other questions, log in on Mondays for the next episode of 'Bear With Me'...!".

It's a bird! It's a plane! No... it's a flying Bear - Captain Hirsute; the latest character in Bear With Me, a cartoon by Bruin (profile). The following is from Bruin: "Paul, calmed by Andy's presence, has fallen into a contented dream state, where heroes are bigger than life. But, who is this mysterious masked man? Whoever he is, he flies, he's furry, and he's FAAAAbulous! Stay tuned, faithful readers, things may get hairy".

Time to check in on 'Bear With Me' (website - articles), a weekly cartoon drawn by Bruin (profile). Here's this week's synopsis from the cartoonist himself:

"Last week, Paul rejected Andy's proposal of marriage, and Andy was none too happy about it. Andy can take rejection, what he reacted to was Paul's reason for turning him down. This week, Andy lets Paul have it, with his own view on their relationship, ending with his own 'You complete me' moment, reducing Paul to a romantic puddle of goo. No wonder Andy is such a successful business man: he knows how to close a deal".

The following is from cartoonist Bruin (profile) of 'Bear With Me' (website - articles): "Paul awakens, panicked by a dream, possibly reliving the beating that was served him by his brother. Fortunately, Andy is nearby to offer comfort. It seems this is the first time that the reality of his presence registers with Paul, because his reaction is one of surprise and gratitude. Who wouldn't want to be held in Paul's muscular arms, pressed to that massive chest?".

The following is from cartoonist Bruin (profile) of 'Bear With Me' (website - articles), a great Bear 'toon updated every Monday: "In this episode, we meet Paul's chief physician, Dr. Kent Clark, who reports that while Paul is recovering well physically, the violent attack against him may have left injuries that cannot be helped with sutures, bandages or splints".

Check out 'Bear With Me' (website - articles) every week as the comic strip is updated every Monday. The following is from the cute cartoonist Bruin (profile): "In this week's strip, Andy attempts to intercede on Paul's behalf, only to be blocked by the hospital's policy regarding access to immediate family. Andy flirts briefly with 'The Dark Side', before deciding on a different approach, setting the stage for a new storyline, filled with hazards of its own".
