Who better to talk to you when it feels like life just sucks huge? The cute bartender at your local Bear bar, that's who. And it looks like the little red headed Mo is going to possibly dish out her whole rotten life to Ed, co-owner of the Phoenix over at Bear With Me. From Bruin, the cartoonist (his TubeBear profile): "Like brother, like sister? Well, there's no denying that Mo follows her brother's format for lodging a complaint, but it sounds like Forrest's sister is about to drop an entire boatload in Ed's lap. Can Ed deal with the deluge? Does he have any advice to give to Mo? Will he simply pass it all off on Forrest? For the answer to these and other burning questions, stay tuned to Bear With Me".

It's Monday which means it's a real good time to head on over to Bear With Me since cartoonist Bruin (TubeBear profile) updates his excellent cartoon on this day.

Awhile back, Forrest was having a small breakdown while trying to take care of his cab business. He called his sister Mo to come in and give him a hand, and she did. Actually she's been doing a real good job. So Forrest is all happy and life is good for him again, but now his sister seems to be having the blues. Now we're not going to find out why she's down and out until the next update, but my guess is that she's in need of some loving, but that's just a stipulation. Read the cartoon and you try and guess why she's got a real long face.

Cartoonist Bruin is interrupting his regular programming over at Bear With Me by introducing us a little more to Benny the bar guy. From Bruin: "Benny strikes again, inflicting mental anguish on those who cannot keep up with his distinctive brand of logic.  This one is so bad, we see Ralph drop out of Bear Mode for the first time, looking like Jimmy Olsen's huskier, furry brother".

Bear With Me is updated every Monday and is one of the best Bear cartoons on the net created by Bruin. Check out his TubeBear profile.

The following is from Bruin (TubeBear profile), cartoonist of Bear With Me: "Since I grew up in a fairly isolated part of the country, my exposure to the Gay subculture was rather limited; so, when I came out, I really didn't know how to 'act' gay... or, indeed, what the rules to being gay were.

Andy of 'Bear With Me' seems to be facing a similar quandary. Just as he's become comfortable with being a Bear and has learned what the rules are, someone throws in a new subset: 'The Gay'. He knows it's all in fun, but for him, 'Fun' has always been illusive, as he spent most of his childhood in the company of adults. He knows what games are, but has never had practice playing them. He knows what fiction and fantasies are, but has rarely engaged in them.  He accurately describes himself as 'play impaired'. Fortunately, Bears are a playful group and are often in touch with their inner child. Andy lucks out in having Paul act as mentor and playmate. I think Andy will learn the rules to the game quickly, and may even surprise Paul at how soon he'll be able to improvise variations on the games they play. Playtime is educational!

Something is happening over at the Phoenix bar and nobody is sure what it is, not even cartoonist Bruin (TubeBear profile), creator of Bear With Me. Bruin is asking us: "is it a fad? Is it a movement? Is it contagious? Can it be stopped? and, what about... Monique?". And my answer is: "I really don't know... and who is Monique?"... yet it does have something to do with everyone catching 'the gay'... maybe you should be catching up with the latest adventure of Andy and his gang over at the coolest weekly Bear comic around.

The debate is about as old as the chicken or the egg... do we men who like men like men because we want to like men or do we like men because we have no choice... now go read that paragraph over, it make sense. Ok, I'll say it in another way - is our affinity for the same sex genetic or cultural...? Ok... do we like men because we want to or because we have no choice... ok forget it, I can't explain it... just go check Bear With Me by Bruin (TubeBear profile).

Everyone has a different version as to what 'reality' consists of; the African man's reality is much different than the Australian man's reality. Now take the 'gay' man's reality who lives in a gay village all night and day, even works there... and now compare that with the 'straight' person's reality armed with Bermuda shorts, a camera and a need to see some of the 'gay' sites in a big town. I've got an idea... how about if you go take a look at Bruin's Bear With Me to see the subtle differences between reality and surreality.

What's better than doing the job yourself...? Getting someone else to do the job for you. Looks like Forrest from Bear With Me is about to go on a vacation as he gets his younger sibling to take care of the shop. Make sure to read Bear With Me every Monday, a superb cartoon created by Bruin (TubeBear profile ~ and for those with a TubeBear profile without a main picture, how about choosing one of Bruin's drawings he made especially for the site).

If you've been checking out the profile pages on TubeBear, you'll notice a lot of people have been signing up and have not been posting a main picture. Why? Oh there's a variety of reasons why: anonymity, laziness, no good pics of self, don't know how to load pic. All of these are valid reasons. However, instead of leaving their profiles void of an image, we have been adding drawings done by PIBear.

Now when we first started using PIBear's drawings as the default image, we only had 3 of his artwork. Well he's added 3 more. To see them all, click here, but here is each of them (I've titled them, not PIBear): Cub Number One, Bear Foot on a Box, Bear Overalls ~ and for the new ones ~ Bear in a Suit (new), Bear in a Tub (new) and Bear in Blue and White (new).

So what we propose is to all those who do not have a main photo, well why not choose one of PIBear's as your main photo. They are cute and fun and that is what life is supposed to be about, yes...? Cute and fun.

ps - PIBear doesn't have a profile up yet because he is in the process of moving to a new home and his computer is probably in a box now. Once he has his profile up, I'll be sure to point it out because PIBear is one seriously cute Daddy Bear.

pss - Not only can you choose from PiBear's drawings, there are also Bruin's drawings to choose from. Check out the 6 images he created for us at TubeBear. Bruin is the cartoonist who does Bear With Me (and here's his TubeBear profile).

It's time to tune in to what's going on in Bear With Me land. In the past few weeks, we have seen a lot of Forrest's sister, Mo because she's there to help her older brother with his business. She also seems on the prowl for a man, and boy is she in the wrong neighbourhood. From Bruin (TubeBear profile), the cartoonist: "First she flirts with Paul, now her subtle insinuations with Andy pop like a bubble.  Even with having Forrest as a brother, the woman has no working Gaydar". Nor a Beardar, for that matter.

See, I could learn a lesson or 2 from Bruin who does Bear With Me, because, unlike Bruin who updates his site every Monday with a new cartoon, I am sometimes a couple of days late with my updates. So let's just pretend this is Monday morning and not Wednesday afternoon and let's pretend you're starting your week and you've got a coffee or tea or beer to start your day and you need just one more jolt ~ check out the latest Bear With Me.

Even after 5 years of Bear With Me, I'm learning new things about Andy, the hero of the cartoon strip. Seems he's been on the cover of big name magazines, and he's under 30... can you say 'worth marrying...?'. Ok - for the record - I'm not shallow, I would never marry for money. My guy would need cute feet, cute hands, a bit of fur here and there, some wrinkles sprinkled all over, toss in a bit of gray in that beard and hair of his, a smile that would make me melt and eyes that are only for me. He would need to be smart, wise, cute and funny, peaceful, faithful, endearing and loving. He would need to be young at heart, filled with life and would be able to hold me tight when I'm feeling a little insecure. I'm not asking much, am I...?

Check out Bear With Me, the greatest weekly Bear cartoon in all of internet land. And take a look at this article - Bruin has lent his excellent drawing talents to TubeBear by making great Bearish icons for those of you who are a tad shy to post your own mug. And here's Bruin's profile if you feel like leaving him a little 'thank you you're the best' in his guestbook.

A great thing has been happening over at TubeBear ~ more and more artists have been contributing their works for the new site. This time it's my favourite cartoonist Bruin who gives us Bear With Me faithfully every Monday morning.

Now for those of you who have made a profile with TubeBear (click here if you haven't made a profile) yet you didn't add a main picture, well we added one for you. The default drawings are done by PIBear (profile and website coming soon). PIBear is this really cute Daddy Bear that I've known for years and he's a great artist who is now dabbling his artistic skills in the Bear world, so when you create a profile without a pic, you'll get his drawing which is supposed to represent you (see article here).

Now here is where Mr. Bruin enters. He has sent in 6 really cute Bear drawings and they are all very reminiscent with the regular characters you find in the Bear With Me strip however they are all new cute faces, exclusive for TubeBear. I am urging you guys who have faceless profiles to choose one of Bruin's drawings which would represent you best.

First you have A Sly Yet Devilish Smirky Bear, Innocent & Very Huggable Bear, Down Under Bear, The Dad I've Always Wanted Bear, Men In Uniforms Make Me Weak At The Knees & Have Me Begging For More Bear, and Are You Looking At Me Bear. They are great little drawings, they are collectibles and the good news is that you get to collect all of them in one shot.

Click here to see all of them. Thx Bruin for the great drawings.

I'm a day late with the update, since there is a new Bear With Me every Monday and today is Tuesday. Moments like these is when I need a strong handsome Bear of a man to take me over his knee and talk all kinds of dirty while he prepares to spank my behind different shades of red... woe... where the hell is my head today...? Ok, head on over to Bruin's incredibly fun site and lose yourself for hours while you turn Andy and his gang into household names.

With a cartoon like Bear With Me that has been around for over 5 years and I've been following it for that long, you get to come to love the main characters, however they sometimes don't get as much air time as you wish.

Actually, in a perfect world, I would love to see a daily Bear With Me comic strip and even an animated movie with Andy and his gang as stars. Of course Bruin is just a cute little Bear and he has bills to pay and a life to lead so I'll just be happy with the weekly updates he offers and even the ones with lesser known characters, up until he becomes a very rich philanthropist and he can work on his cartoons all day or until someone in the Bear world discovers his talent and decides to take his cartoon that one step further.

Now to better explain this week's strip, here's a few words from the cartoonist "Mo is workin' on gettin' a major mean on and up steps Lamont and the storm clouds disperse. I guess there's just something about getting your hair did that calms a woman right down. For all his perceived faults, Lamont does know how to treat a woman right".

It's Monday madness as you scramble about to get your week started... but it's always a good idea to take a Bear With Me break, Bruin's (profile) weekly cartoon consisting of a small Scooby gang of cute and furry Bear friends. This week Forrest's sister learns that men who are big and brawny and masculine are not always running after the opposite sex; that husky guys the size of football players men can easily fall in love with other men. What a wonderful world we live in.

Have you visited Bear With Me at all in the past 5 years...? I'm sure you've seen Bruin's cartoon if you're a Bear lover. Well here's a thumbnail of the good looking hairy husky cartoonist (pictured)... but he also loves to act and he has a singing voice to boot. The following is info about his chorus and their upcoming show: "June 2nd marks the 10th anniversary of Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus.  We are celebrating the event with a concert at Mills Hall on the UW-Madison campus in Wisconsin.  We have commissioned two pieces, 'Tomorrow, God Willing', by Elizabeth Alexander, and 'Things That Never Die' by Craig Carnahan, and will be debuting these songs that evening with the composers in attendance.

Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus is Madison's gay and gay-friendly men's chorus. Its singers and directors, and accompanist, and non-singing members serve in a volunteer capacity. With a singing membership of around 35 men, the chorus strives to provide gay bisexual, transgendered and gay friendly men with opportunities for the performance of choral music in a supportive and affirming environment".

It's time to head on over to Bear With Me and find out what's going on in Andy's world... however... it's been quite some time since we've seen Andy ~ he's probably doing the nasty with his new love of his life Paul (or so I'm assuming since it's been about a month and a half since we've seen or heard from our hero - yet a month and a half in our world is about 15 minutes in cartoon world ~ altho Andy could in get a quicky during then... I think I'm reaching here). Bear With Me... one great cartoon drawn by Bruin.

Over at the cartoon Bear With Me, it's always been somewhat of a family affair. When it comes to Andy the hero of this story, his upper class and socialite mom has been around in the picture for quite some time now. And now we get to meet someone else's family member and this time it's Forrest's sister, Mo.

Ok, so Forrest is called Forrest T. Lawn. Mo is about to tell us all what the T. signifies until Forrest whisks her away and leaves us hanging. So, here's a game - email me your answer or just use the comments form and tell me what you believe the T. signifies in his name ~ Forrest T. Lawn. If you get it right, heck, I'll give you a free membership for a month to the PlanetBears gallery. It's that simple. And to be honest, I have absolutely no clue what the T. signifies ~ yet ~ I'm planning on emailing the author Bruin so as to squeeze out the answer right now, even if it means tickling his feet).

This is how I start my Monday mornings: I wake up, ponder whether to make my bed (I don't), shuffle up to the washroom, pee, look at myself in the mirror, scare myself, shuffle over to the kitchen (I shuffle a lot in the morns), open the door let the pups out to pee and terrorize the squirrels, make some cereal, shu-ff-l-e over to the computer, check my email, and then I go Bruin's website Bear With Me to catch up on the latest adventures of Andy and Forrest and the gang. That's my Monday morn, what's yours?
