Ah... Mexican cowboys, or in this case, really cute Mexican Bearish cowboys. Head on over to Vaqueros Mexicanos and check out some of the most beautiful shots of Bearish cowboys you just might ever see. The photography is done by Paco Del Agave, and altho the site is in Spanish, I am in contact with Paco so I will be sure to let you know. Lastly - his galleries - not only are the men incredible, but the gallery itself is a true virtual trip.

I can't seem to get enough of Eric Nielson's work (website - blog - Flickr - articles). I keep mentioning him here in the news. I guess I'm becoming a fan or something. Eric is now beginning to make regular trips to Bearracuda San Francisco party which takes place every 1st and 3rd of the month at Deco. If you get a chance, swing by his photo booth which is located upstairs and have your photo taken. And check his latest photo set entitled Dirty Santa (password bearracuda).

Let us embark into the wonderful world of Eric Nielson's photography. Please seat yourself very comfortably, take in a long and meaningful deep breath... hold it for a second, and then release... repeat... breathe in... breathe out...
Ok, first let's head on over to Eric's official website. Here you will find some of his finest photos he's taken (all conveniently shown thru a slideshow), his contact info (he's in sunny San Francisco), and you'll also find a link to his blog Observd with the byline 'Life in the Castro thru the Lens of TroublePup' (that being his nickname). And finally you'll see a link entitled Bearracuda. Now Bearracuda is a party that takes place in San Francisco the 1st and 3rd Saturday every month at Deco, and Eric is their designated photographer (Bearracuda's website - articles - profile).
Eric is creative with his camera, he's innovating, and his photos are filled with life proving that you can have a blast with photography. Not only that, a lot of the guys he photographs are these incredibly handsome Bearish men smiling genuine smiles. His stuff is erotic, sexy and fun, all at the same time.
Ok... ok... some more of Eric's fine work. Head on over to his Flickr page and you'll discover even more of his excellent shtuff... he truly knows how to frame a guy. So I will leave you with that, and a few words that Eric wrote of himself from his profile on Flickr. He states that he's "just your average pagan, liberal, socialist, queer photographer living in San Francisco documenting everything that the Republicans are scared to death about".
... Wh...what...? You need even more of Eric Nielson's sthuff...? Fine. Check out this link to his page on SmugMug. Now some of the galleries are password protected so that might mean you'll have to email Eric and say something really nice for you to see his naughtier side.

Could it be that Angry Alan...
... isn't so angry anymore...?
First off, Alan has a new look to his website. The biggest change (aside from the design) is his new focus on Bears. There's a great slideshow with some of the incredible photography he's taken of just the cutest Bearish men there are. One thing I truly appreciate about his work is that he takes full figured shots of his models; so you get to see their cute noses right down to their cute toeses (rhyme with noses...k?).
2ndly, he no longer mentions he's angry on his front page (altho he never did mention 'why' he was angry, only that it was a long story, and well, you don't want to anger someone who is already angry by asking questions of why he's angry... now do you...?). Instead, you get a great little bio about this hard working student, and after knowing a little more about (not so angry) Alan, I'm beginning to admire him more and more (maybe he'll change his site to admiringalan.com).
3rdly, he's got a great blog, and 4thly, you can say hello to him from his TubeBear profile ~ PolaroidCub.

TorontoCub's work is kinda like... 'Bear Apocalypse'... it's the end of the world and Bears are the last remaining species left alive as they dwell on a barren world. He has an incredible eye for taking sceneries what most people find ugly and making it incredibly beautiful. Then he superimposes a Bearish man on it, and it's then end of the world... with Bears. All I want to do is listen to some old NIN real loud when I look at his work.
Check out his stuff on his Flickr page - Hip & Swagger Photography. He's a freelance photographer that is into urban exploration of buildings, cities and historical sites... as well as Erotic Bear Imagery. And when he puts them all together, it's poetry on print. He's got an incredible talent and I keep finding myself lost within the detail of his work. Who is this incredible artist? He's right here.

The last I heard from photographer John Rand (website) - he stated he was still doing Bear photos as well as landscapes yet everything was on hold as he was in the midst of building a log cabin as his new permanent home. That was at the beginning of the year.
Here on PlanetBears, I've mentioned John Rand before when I posted an article about his cute little book called 'Ten Bear Men'. With that article I posted some of the photographs he's taken. And a small reminder ~ the book is available for $10. Contact John if you're interested.
Well I was checking out my archives and I found some more of his excellent work to share. Check them out here. Also, here is a Flash video that Thom Collins consisting of a John Rand logo. He made this for me way back in '01 and it's still an incredible piece of Flash design even to today's standards (and Thom is another one who I haven't heard from in awhile - his website is still on hold - I think I need to contact him to see where he too is at in his life).
Below is a bio I posted on Bear-Pics in '01: "I was born on October 1st, 1956 in Oakland, California and spent the first years of my life in the Alaskan wilderness. My father was a forest ranger. At age 6 asked for a dollhouse for my birthday because I wanted to be an interior decorator. By high school I decided I wanted to be a graphic artist but during the second semester of college my interest shifted to fine art and photography. I received a Masters Degree in Fine art from University of California Irvine in 1987. Later that year I was hired to teach photography at one of the local community colleges. In 1988 I began to photograph Bears exclusively because I felt there is a need for a broader erotic esthetic than was available in the gay press. I have done work for American Bear, Bear, Bulk Male, Drummer, Power Play and others. My work has also appeared in Artforum, Artweek and various journals and newspapers. Bears are my first love, I have always been attracted to hairy, heavyset men. Photography is my second love".

When I first started doing Bear news back in '99, there was one site that I used to mention so often since it was updated a lot, and that was Lynn Ludwig's site ShutterBear.com (articles). Over the years, however, Lynn has been fighting hard with his health. Yet even tho his health has been challenging him, he still makes it out to Lazy Bear Weekend.
Now it's my bad for not mentioning this earlier since he added the photos back in August, but you gotta check out his pictures from Lazy Bear '08. Lynn's photos are one of the reasons why I started working in the Bear world because he was one of the very first who took pictures of the very best Bearish looking men. And you can always tell a Lynn Ludwig photo because he seems to capture the best in every man that strikes a pose for him. His images are bright and full of life, and the inner beauty of the men shines thru, bringing forth their outer beauty as well. It's a beautiful thing.
The following is from Lynn's news page: "So at least I made it out one more day and a few more hours at Lazy Bear '08; and that continues to be the limit of my events activities once again. But my garden is looking great and that activity continues to provide its own rewards. Still, it bums me out That a new 5 drug cocktail hasn't fixed everything. Blood work looks good, but a nasty pneumonia, a scary drug interaction, a fainting spell along with a damaged heart, a compressed spine and more drag me down and prey upon my spirit. Losing my cat and very best friend hasn't help. Enjoy the photos - what I can do does sustain me and I am always hopeful I will be able to do more down the long and winding road".

In the last poll, I asked what your thoughts were about in regards to Felching. The results were kinda split down the middle: 27% said it's disgusting while 26% found it a turn on.
42% said they don't know what it means. So I figured it was my Beartriotic (patriotic?) duty to fill you in on what felching means. The following is from Wikipedia (article): "Felching is a sexual practice in which semen or other fluids are sucked out of the anus of a partner. The acts of sucking the semen and then passing it, mouth to mouth or open mouth kissing, is referred to as 'snowballing'; although the latter is typically associated with semen ejaculated into a mouth from fellatio. Felching can also mean the licking or sucking of another person's anus, similar to the act of a rimjob. In the United states, felching is using a straw or tube to remove semen from the rectum".
So there you have it ~ the delicious art of felching. It's important to know these things such as 'felching' and 'snowballing'... it is... you never know when the word might come up in a conversation.
As for the image, that's a photo from John Rand's collection (website). I'm pretty sure that's spit but after learning more about felchism... I'm just not sure anymore. Check out more of John Rand's excellent photography here.

His name is Alan and he's angry... so much so that he made a site called Angry Alan. What's he so angry about...? Well I don't know really, however he is one heck of a photographer who takes all kinds of great stills in 35mm, 120mm, 4x5 and with a Polaroid. He can also make a print of anything you wish, or so he says on his site.
Oh... he also likes Bears. In his About section, he says he's angry and it's a long story, but he digs Bears, and wow he also takes some great stills of Bears too (photos here). He has a modest collection of very casual shots of Bears in relaxed settings, however the men he photograph are anything but dull... on the contrary, the men he's taken pics of are brilliantly sexy Bearish men. Great full body shots, all of them handsome. I really hope he plans to add more to this section.
I think... when Alan is among Bears... he isn't so angry, yet I'm just assuming.

Just recently I mentioned that the German BearFighter has updated his page with a bunch of new rugged images (website - articles - profile). Well he also sent in a very nice background image, something that could be used as a wallpaper (grab it here). It's a clipart from his collection. Make sure to check out his site. He is meticulous with the way he presents his subject, definitely one of my favourite photographers of Bears.

We got some news from BearFighter (website - articles - profile). The German photographer is from back the USA and has a bunch of new photos that he's added to his site.
From BearFighter: "After my little exhibition in San Francisco during the summer, I have worked more behind the scenes, in the background, drank some sips from the creative cornucopia and came back now with a lot of new photo material. Feel free to dig around on my website, under Visions click through my different themes of 'Real Brutes', 'Bears' and 'Wrestlers'. If you go to Events, please have a look at my latest promotions & publications".

There really isn't much about Ryan Lee on his
website yet his photographs do speak volumes. I actually got to meet Ryan briefly at the
Monsieur Bear Montréal (
articles) which took place at the Woof Bar (
website). Ryan was there taking photos of the event for
Fugues Magazine, and he took a ton of pics and they are excellent. This guy is real good - he took pics of me and I actually look decent. Make sure to check out his site, there's a ton of event pics to be seen.

[Members ~ click here and here] Jacques aka PandaMontreal has been kind enough to share with a bunch of pics that were never posted here on PlanetBears. He sent in so many that I'm going to divide these updates, this being the 1st one (click here to see all of his photo sets in the PlanetBears' Galleries section - click here to see his TubeBear profile).
In this update, there's 2 sets. The 1st set Jacques calls it his 'Black & White' set; pics of him on a black chair in a white setting. At the end, I added some photos from his 'Dreamland' series; photos of him in bed surrounded by his collection of teddybears.
In the 2nd set, you get to marvel at the magical work of GianOrso (gallery - profile). the Italian GianOrso is truly a master photographer, and in my opinion he has taken some of the best photos ever of Bearish men found anywhere in this universe. Well GianOrso came to visit Canada a few years back and Jacques was fortunate enough to have a photo session with him. As a bonus, there's a bunch of 'behind the scenes' photos in which you get to see GianOrso photographing Panda.
In the next update, which will be in a couple of days, we will be posting Jacques' 'Sex-capade' set - a hot little jerk-off solo session.

Great news from Italy, photographer GianOrso has updated his website once again. He was also gracious enough to send in a few photos for us, so check them out here. GianOrso is truly one of the nicest guys in the universe, and his photography is inspiring and impeccable. He has, in the past, sent us pics from time to time, so check out some of the articles that have been written about him here. Visit his Flickr page as well as his profile on TubeBear.

I've been going thru my old bear-pics folders and I keep finding so many gems... especially photos sent in by Italian photographer GianOrso (website - TubeBear profile - articles). Only a few weeks ago I posted photos he sent in from a Calendar he worked on (photos here), and this time I found some great 'toga' party photos. There's quite a few of them (88 in all), so check them out here.

Here are some excellent photos taken by GianOrso (website - TubeBear profile), the well known Italian photographer sent me during the days when I was running bear-pics (the site before PlanetBears). These photos were taken for a calendar he was working on called 'Food 4 Bears' - some of these photos made the calendar, some are outtakes.
I gotta say, going through my old bear-pics folders is kicking up some nostalgia in me. Anyhow, enough about me, click here to enjoy this very cool set. Thanks GianOrso. Make sure to check out his website. The man is a genius when it comes to photography (and I was also graced by meeting him when he came to Canada).

Relax... you are Among Gentlemen. That's how you are greeted when you visit Jason's website, a photographer who seems to care very deeply for his work and is able to turn a regular photo into something richer and even dramatic. Jason has an eye for the more mature and huskier man when he chooses a model, exactly the kind of guys I love looking at.
Here's a little something Jason sent in so that we can get to know this fine photographer just a little better, altho his work does speak for itself. From Jason: "I started photographing those subjects because they represent my ideal of beauty and I was trying to show people what I see. I created most of the work in the late 1990s and was planning on publishing a book. I then got busy earning a living and the project was allowed to rest. I plan on going back into to my archive of negatives from that prolific period and expanding the body of work as I feel I have matured in many ways and my eye has changed. I think I will see many more possibilities for interesting images in the negatives I already have. And my Photoshop skills have improved allowing me to have greater control over the images I create".

There's a fine line between erotica and pornography, and photographer Lui is a man who understands that fine line. Lui offers "erotic portrait services dedicated to the creation of sensual nude art in tasteful fashion, while excelling in crafting amazing images of individuals and couples that surpass usual concepts of photography".
As Lui states "Erotic photography is about exploring your ideas and visions to create art that is truly unique. With over 18 years experience photographing the public, Lui is a master at providing a safe, respectful, relaxed and comfortable setting to bring out the best in my clients. Lui is able to set up a portable portrait studio anywhere, in the convenience of your home or any other location".
Check out his site - Erotic Artistry & Portraiture. Most of his models are... well... models... but there are a few beefy Daddy Bear types. Here is a list of prices and ways in order to contact him.

I remember way back over 5 years ago a now defunct Bear's Mailing List (of QueerNet) was all abuzzed about a certain San Francisco rag going belly up - this mag known as Bear. Some of the guys that were working for this mag decided to get together and wanted to create a new mag by compiling images of what they considered to be good looking men. They wanted to slightly move away from the 'Bear' tag (since the last mag didn't do so well) yet this mag was still all about husky hairy and mature looking men. Thus was born 100% Beef Mag (website ~ TubeBear profile). 5 years later and the magazine is still going strong, publishing their 35th issue (cover) which you can pick up from their website (via subscription) or at your local XxX store. And as of right now, Beef Mag is truly the only real 'Bear' magazine out there, ever since American Bear and American Grizzly went belly up as well a couple of years back (AmaBear - all gone now).
ps - 5 years later and Bear mag 'still' has their website up - Brush Creek Media - and they are 'still' selling stuff like hats and magazines, however there is no store that exists, meaning if you send your money to that site, it's like donating it to some fundamentalist religion... meaning... you're just donating your money to thin air. Instead, go to Beef Mag's site and get yourself a copy of a real subscription.
