Bam... Boom... Pow... Wham (Holy Bat Bear!)... you see Flashes Before Your Eyes... and welcome to Daniel's world in which you will find some very delightful Sinister Bears, among a whole bagful of other interesting tidbits.
It's a brand new blog about Bears and comic books, all deriving from the creative mind and fingers of Daniel ~ a 28 year Spaniard out in Cadiz, Spain who's got a cool quick eye for cute Bearish men. His site is mostly in Spanish however he has been translating some of it to English lately which is great for a Canadian like me. Go check out his stuff, it's a lot of fun.
By the way, I got the Boom Boom Pow not from the old Batman show, but by the Black Eyes Peas (website - video) - it's their first single from their latest CD - the E.N.D.. And like Fergie sings, she likes that Boom Boom Pow and she's 3008 and I'm so 2000 and late... whatever the hell that means!...

In space no one can hear you scream... WOOF...!
Dr. Puzuk has travelled in time. He's in the future. The universe is completely different from how he used to remember it. There's new evils that rule the planets. Exactly what is he going to do...?
We've got another Bear Degeneration issue translated in English for you guys to enjoy. It's issue #13 and Dr. Puzuk is discovering that the universe is quite a different place ever since he and his Deep Dark Hole compatriots travelled time to escape the alien nation Bearg. Here's the issue: (page #1 - page #2 - page #3 - page #4).
Bear Degeneration is the creation of Italian artist Perdido (website - blog - profile). If you can read Italian then you can follow his cartoon here since he's at issue #18 in the series. Perdido and I have been translating the strip over to English, and we're slowly catching up. And for those who've never heard of Bear Degeneration, you should start from the beginning: episode #1 - episode #2 - episode #3 - episode #4 - episode #5 - episode #6 - episode #7 - episode #8 - episode #9 - episode #10 - episode #11 - episode #12, and today's episode - episode #13.

Over at Becoming Blizzard (website - articles), our main polar bear 'Blizzard' has been well on the road of discovery. He has finally embraced his sexual preference and has met up with a real cute friend named Bob. Now he wants to make more 'gay' friends, and he bumps into Charlie and Greg. Little does Blizzard know that Charlie and Greg have an interesting master and slave relationship. Make sure to follow Becoming Blizzard, things might just get a little knotty (I know, lame).

What would life be without our Bear cartoons...? One does not realize just how much joy these little boxed drawings bring us. We anticipate the next strip and gobble up these frozen frames that are filled with characters we begin to relate with. So for those in need of a bit of Bear Cartoon loving, here's a couple of updates for you.
First let's start with Becoming Blizzard the story about a Polar Bear who's a little unsure about his sexual orientation, yet is seems that Blizzard is beginning to realize what he likes as he meets up with Bob. However things are about to get all that much more interesting with a whole new episode called 'Daddy Dearest'. Cartoonist Rondall Carson informed me that some new characters are going to be introduced, a Daddy and his slave, meanwhile things will be steaming up for Blizzard and Bob.
Next it's time to head on over to Bear With Me, a weekly cartoon drawn by Bruin. It's been a real roller coaster ride for several months now ever since Paul packed his belongings and moved back to his father's place. A fractured skull and a sprained ankle later, Paul is recuperating while Andy is doing his best to keep his emotions under wraps.
PS... thank you guys for making these cartoons for us.

Things are looking a bit up and down over in Bear With Me world. It's best I let Bruin (profile) explain what's going on: "The ambulance has arrived, Paul is on his way to hospital, and none of his injuries appear to be life-threatening. Naturally, there's a catch. If you're in an ambulance and you discover the EMTs are named Oliver and Stanley... leave. Immediately. Nothing good can come of it".

It's been a long hard Christmas and Santa needs his rest, so 'shh...' and try not to make too much noise because I've heard that Santa can be a real Brute if he doesn't get a full night's rest.
Actually, this drawing is done by Spanish artist Simon and you can see a lot more of his fantastic work over at his website. Now this isn't the first time that I mention Simon's work; I did so back in Dec '06 (article), however he has since created a new site and has added a ton more of his incredible drawings. And what I said 2 years ago still stands today ~ it's as if Simon has been able to enter into my mind and pull out the type of men that I find good looking, then went ahead and put them to drawing with incredible detail as well as rich with colour. Not only that but Simon has his 'brutes' in uniforms sometimes, or in leather, or he draws a dreamy coach in the locker room. Simply exhilarating.

Well it took Blizzard a long time, but he's finally come around to embracing his inner polar bear. Blizzard has met the Bear of his dreams who talks about Star Trek all the while likes getting naked in the hot tub. Becoming Blizzard is the work of Rondall Carson (bio). From his bio, he says: "My goal for the Blizzard strip is to promote a positive view of the big hairy gay male. I love the big boys, and Becoming Blizzard will reflect that".

The following is from cartoonist Bruin (articles - profile) of Bear With Me: "Things are looking dire for Paul. Bad enough that his brother has organized a small posse to bash him, his own father has set him up for the attack. Will Paul escape? Will Andy get there in time? Stay tuned faithful readers!". Reading this comic lately has my blood boiling. It's so sad to think that some people could stoop this low... sometimes I forget it's a cartoon.
On a lighter note, the image today is a 'self-portrait' done by Bruin. Not sure exactly when he drew this, but it's at least a few years old, before he got his etching kit for his computer. He's just as cute in cartoon as he is in his pictures (as an aside - does anyone remember Bruin's very sexy dress pants and socks and shoes photo set he posted on a Yahoo! groups many moons ago. That man has a great set of legs).

Have you been following the Bear Degeneration chronicles...? I hope so because we are now up to #10 in the English series. See it here - page #1 - page #2 - page #3 - page #4. In this episode, Doctor Puzak meets up with DarkDom, the evil police captain of Fatterland. If he doesn't like you, you're forked.
Bear Degeneration is the creation of the ever so cute and huggable Italian artist Perdido (website - profile). He has been creating these cartoons in Italian and he's up to episode #17 (and his drawing technique have been changing and improving all the while). So if you're good in Italian, then check out this page from his Blog. When I saw the cartoons, I was seriously curious what the story was about, so I have been helping Perdido with translating the toon over into English, and so far we've done 10.
If you haven't read a single one of these, it's best you start at the beginning - episode #1 - episode #2 - episode #3 - episode #4 - episode #5 - episode #6 - episode #7 - episode #8 - episode #9... and for today's update - episode #10.

Jacques, aka PandaMontreal (galleries - profile) sent in this portrait of him that the cartoonist Bruin drew. I think this is the first portrait done by Bruin (altho I could be mistaken). The resemblance is uncanny, don't you think...? Actually, I think it's the cutest thing since sticky honey on a chest full of fur.
This gives me the opportunity to remind everyone that today being Monday is also the day that Bruin (profile - articles) updates his Bear With Me series. Andy's mom and son relationship is looking seriously rocky. Make sure to tune in.

Andy... is seeing red.
Ok this image is from last week's issue of Bear With Me, however it's just one of the coolest. Andy has definitely found his 'inner' voice over the years as well as his strength to confront the 'evil...' - also known as - his mother.
Make sure to follow Andy's adventure every Monday.

Things are getting really heavy for Paul, ever since he left Andy to go back home to his family. Looks like he's drowning in the meanness that is surrounding him.
From Bruin (profile) the artist of Bear With Me: "Remember the indignities of high school, the first time someone shouted, 'Faggot!' as they drove past? Bad enough when they came from classmates; imagine poor Paul enduring them from his own family! It's all beginning to wear on the big guy, and one wonders how long he can hang on. Fear not, faithful readers. Help is on the way! Andy is mounting a rescue mission even as I write. Stay tuned. The fur will fly".

The following is from Bruin (articles - profile), cartoonist of Bear With Me: "Ever been in one of those situations where you work your butt off on a project, only to have someone else get all the credit? Seems like Paul's in one of those set-ups with his family. It's not that Paul isn't doing anything, but rather he's not doing the 'right' things to garner his father's attention and approval. Lucky Karl; as the family Jock, he gets all the acclaim, while Paul, relegated to household duties, gets diddly. How much of this abuse will Paul endure before he snaps? Is Andy going to mount a rescue, and if so, when? Stay tuned to the answers to these and other questions in upcoming episodes of Bear With Me".

Once again, put on your space boots and take a flight with the hot cartooned gang that make up Bear Degeneration. This time artist Perdido (website - profile) and I (Forrest - profile) have translated episode #9. In the last episode, we left corporal Slutton to deal with Reverend Beef and his fanatics, and now we follow Doctor Puzuk as he transports onto a strange planet that forks its inhabitants...
Check Episode #9 here: page #1 - page #2 - page #3 - page #4. This cartoon is more than great, and Perdido has already done 17 issues which you can see on his Blog however they are all in Italian, and we are working hard on translating them to English. The only setback is that we have not put all of the English episodes onto one page, so you're gonna have to do a bit of digging to get caught up, but I did my best to make it easy as possible to follow this most excellent adventure. If you've never heard about it before, then start from the beginning - episode #1 - episode #2 - episode #3 - episode #4 - episode #5 - episode #6 - episode #7 - episode #8 - and for today's update - episode #9.

The truly cute Perdido (website - blog - profile) has added another episode to his Bear Degeneration. This is episode #17. Now this is just to let you know this cartoon is in Italian, however we (Perdido and I) have been working on Englishifyizing (I made that up) his cartoons... in other words, we've been translating them, and I am working on #9 (coming soon). Cartoonist Bruin (articles - profile) is back from the GALA that was in Miami, and he told me that his chorus Perfect Harmony rocked. He is now back and has updated Bear With Me, and we're now following the adventures of Paul.
From Bruin: "Paul is back home with his brother and father, but the welcome is a mixed bag: He's immediately slugged on the shoulder by his brother, and gets a less-than-supportive reaction from his father when asked about his flower shop. It's becoming clear why Paul has self-esteem issues".

Monday signifies Bear With Me updates, and in this episode, with Mo's help, Andy has pinpointed where Paul is, however Andy needs to understand why Paul has left, so he chats with Mo a little, asking her if his social status could be the reason why Paul left ('am I a snob', he asks her). Mo says definitely not... and with a little deduction, Andy realizes why Paul has left.
From Bruin (profile - articles), the cartoonist: "As Andy and Mo mull over the reasons Paul left, the penny finally drops, and Andy comes up with a name. It seems he's on the right track, but what will come of it? I have the feeling things are going to get very interesting".
In other news, Bruin will be participating in the GALA choral festival in Miami from July 12th thru the 17th.
