Here's a new drawing from the Spanish Bear Yotto Bano (article). You can see more of his 'Graffiti & Urban Bear Art' over at one of the coolest Bear blog names yet - it's called UrsaLaLaLa. Yotto even sent in a 'TubeBear drawing' awhile back, and so can you. Check out this article which will explain on how you can have your artwork displayed on TubeBear as well. You don't even need a profile nor a website... just the art.

French artist Christophe Jannin (website - blog page - TubeBear profile) has sent in his latest piece. It's entitled Lonely (The Missed Call).
It's another excellent drawing - this time Christophes explores a little darker mood than he usually draws - a good looking Bear sitting by his cell phone... did he miss the call... did he do it on purpose (since it is a cell phone, it should be with him at all times). However, altho the mood is a little more sombre, the drawing itself is still very vibrant and full of life, the sun shining through in the back, and the Bear is beautiful.

Every now and then TubeBear likes to feature a profile. This time it's an extremely cute Italian by the name of GiGi aka GiGiBear5 ~ profile is here. He's a very tall handsome hunk - 6'4'' and weighs in at 300lbs. He's a big Bear who likes big Bears. He has a partner so he's not looking for anyone special, just to meet some friends.
To get to know him a bit better, check out his webpage GiGiBear5.com. From there you can take a look at his galleries so you'll see some more pics of this husky man, and you can also check out one of his hobbies which is he likes to draw pics of Bearish men.

Monday updates over at Bear With Me. The following cartoon synopsis is from artist Bruin (TubeBear profile): "Constance continues her discussion with Father O'Toole in which she reveals that Andy is rather enigmatic to her. It seems she's done everything right, so why hasn't Andy turned out the way she expected? What are the influences in Andy's life that Constance can't anticipate or control?
Like most parents, Constance is asking the wrong question. It's not 'What did I do wrong?', but rather 'Is my child a good person?'. Andy could easily have become an elitist snob like his mother, but is instead directing his fortune and energies to bettering the LGBT community where he lives. The fact that he's found love in the process is an unexpected bonus.
Will Father O'Toole help redirect Constance's focus? Will Constance give up her efforts to break up Andy and Paul? Will monkeys fly out of her butt? Stay tuned, gentle readers!".

I've been doing Bear news since '99 and I have met a lot of great artists over the internet. I am constantly discovering websites from artists who have a passion to draw Bearish characters; may their drawings be cartoonish, anime-like or some classical painting. I have also tried to report as many artists as possible.
On the flip side, I come across a lot of pictures, drawings, paintings, etc., done by unknown artists. I'll find these pictures in Yahoo! Groups or on Bear gallery pages. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, there will be an email tagged somewhere but often the email is outdated or I just do not get a reply and my guess is because they just don't understand English (a lot of artists who draw Bearish characters originate from Japan, I've discovered).
All these unknown artists - spending hours drawings Bearish characters, sending them out on the net for us to discover yet never claiming authorship... I guess there's something mysteriously alluring to all this, altho it is nice to give credit where credit is due.
