The internet allows for our inner (and often hidden) exhibitionist to come out. It's true that not everyone likes to be seen, but a lot of guys enjoy it when others are watching them, when they pay close attention to what they are saying, and if others are getting off while watching them, well that's a whole fantasy into itself, now isn't it...

Please meet Jay, aka VoyExhibBear. This handsome Bearish man discovered the pleasures of livestreaming on TubeBear. He told me that it's a real trip for him when others are watching him. I can understand why - he's got quite the body and an incredibly cute face. Jay then told me that he had some photos that he would like to share. I replied that the best place for that would be in the PlanetBears Galleries, in the Bear Amateur section.

So check out his newly added galleries and make sure to contact him, either via email or thru his profile. Also, keep an eye out on livestreaming section; Jay is on quite a bit and he looks real good live. And lastly, Jay stated that he makes his way over to Montreal sometimes, so I just might line up a photo shoot with him in the future.

Some people cannot stand graffiti, yet I've come to appreciate this urban art. It's like they are invisible warriors, changing the landscapes of cities yet nobody notices them working. One morning you have a blank wall, the next morning... art.

One thing I have never witnessed is Bear grafitti... not until I came across the work of the Spanish artist Yotto Bano. He calls his stuff (fittingly) 'Graffiti & Urban Bear Art', and I had mentioned his work in the past here on PlanetBears (articles), and he even quoted something I said on his blog site UrsuLaLaLa (the quote...? That his work is so cute you just want to hug the walls he's painted).

Since then, he has created a great profile on TubeBear, adding photos of his work and also a hot banner (every time I see the banner show up, it's like someone graffitied my site... it's very cool). He has also contributed a piece of his work to the ongoing TubeBear art gallery (for more on this - click here and find out how you can add your work to the gallery as well). Lastly, I notice he has some great looking jackets with his work sewn on the back... not sure if those are up for sale or not, you'll need to contact him for that.

Lastly - you gotta love this graffitied belly, and click here to see an incredible piece he created on the wall. I kept it at very high resolution just so you can see the amount of detail that went into it. I love UrsuLaLaLa.

Prop 8 ~ Supreme Court Share, RSS, Tags, News & Culture, Newsletter
Thursday, November 20, 2008

Proposition 8 (articles) is going to have its date in court. The following is from the LA Times (article): "The California Supreme Court voted 6 to 1 on Wednesday to review legal challenges to Proposition 8, the voter initiative that restored a ban on same-sex marriage, but refused to permit gay weddings to resume pending a final decision".

The court is going to also discuss the fate of those who did get married prior to Prop 8. As for Prop 8 going to court so quickly after it was passed, this says nothing as to whether they will uplift the ban to same-sex marriages or not. The Supreme Court should come to a decision on this by spring. Oh, and what does Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger think of all this? He expects "the court to overturn the proposition and indicated that he favored that outcome".

A couple of years back, I was doing a lot of running around with Eric (galleries - profile), and whenever his buddy David (galleries - profile) from the States would cross the border, then the 3 of us would get together and take a lot of photos. Those days seem kinda long gone. Since then, I have sold my house and met the Bear of my dreams (that's right... Roger - galleries - profile). As for Eric, he too sold his house, he moved around a bit from place to place until he finally settled into a condo in Ottawa. As for David, he tried to get a Canadian citizenship awhile back and I think it's still in process, but for now he works at a Big & Tall store in Albany, NY.

Anyhow, they sent me some recent photos and I thought I would share them with you - check them out here. They are still a cute couple. As an aside, I do see Eric from time to time altho we haven't worked on anything in awhile. Here's hoping that we'll come up with some new material in the new year.

BearParty Mag Share, RSS, Tags, Goods - Mags, CDs, DVDs, Newsletter

I got my first every BearParty Magazine (website - cover - articlesprofile) in the mail the other day. It's the fall issue and wow what a great pocket Bear surprise that was. I had never seen the rag before so when I picked it at the post office, I wasn't sure what it was since it's more of a digest sized mag, yet BearParty is filled with a ton of husky goodness with articles, cartoons, interviews, and the fall CoverBear Dave is just all kinds of gorgeous.

To get a copy, this is what they state from their site: "BearParty Magazine is distributed for free in a hand-selected list of Bear bars around the world, and online to BearParty members. We try to make enough copies available in every location, but even with more than 25,000 copies going out each quarter to hundreds of locations, we know some folks who want a copy aren't getting it. The magazine is free, but it costs us extra to mail it out to individuals. We can mail a printed copy to you quarterly (4 issues a year) in a plain envelope if you pay shipping and handling ~ $10 US ~ $20 International".

First things first - French artist Guy Thomas (profile) has a new look to his website, it's great, easy to navigate and you get to see all of his most excellent Bearish artwork. As he states in his biography: "I've never stopped drawing what I love most: big, strong, full bodies, hairy with rough or smiling bearded faces. This is my way of thanking Mother Nature for all the grace and pleasure she brings us with Bears".

Now for the news: Guy has a new exhibition at the Station B in Lyon, France. It begins on November 22nd and will run right thru until January 18th. Looks like a great place for a showing.

And now for your 'Bear History' of the day... as we take a moment to look back in time to see the cuties which came before us, and to check out some great beards from centuries ago. This is composer Georges Bizet (Wiki - photo), born 1838 (some 40 years after Mozart) and died quite young, at the age of 36, on his 6th wedding day anniversary. So yes, a straight Bearish man, however that does not mean I cannot appreciate his accomplishments.

To be honest, I don't know Bizet's work all that well. I have heard of 'Carmen' but not of his other work. I'm going to have to find his music, close my eyes, and lose myself in what many hail as a classical master.

Roger's Nature Walk on YouTube (channel BearGhetti): "There is something that I have come to truly admire about Roger is his love for nature. I haven't met anyone else like him who is able to find the miracle in things that most people consider common. A simple nature walk becomes a glimpse into paradise".

This year I (Forrest - profile) dabbled into movie making. I have been working with Roger (galleries - profile) as well as a few others and what I've come to realize is I now fully appreciate the amount of work that goes into making a movie.

The hardest part for me is the editing. Writing the story and filming it is of course a lot of work, but it's the editing ~ sitting down and spending the whole day streaming the movie together into a coherent whole. I could work 12 hours on it and be lucky if I've completed a minute... or two (miracles of miracles). Of course I've never taken courses on movie making so it's a lot of learning, still... I think 'editor' should be the final credit seen at the end of a movie, not 'director'.

This section of Roger walking in the woods is a segment to a larger project. I am trying to work on this project as much as I can, but it's just trying to find the time. My goal for '09 is to work as much as I can and with a wing and a prayer, complete something for production.

Please let me know what you think of this 5 minute short of Roger in the woods. I think Roger has such a beautiful innocence about him that it instantly appears on camera.

Prince Sues Michael J. Share, RSS, Tags, News & Culture, Newsletter

A Bearish prince is suing Michael Jackson. The prince's name is Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and he claims that Michael Jackson owes him an album, an autobiography and and a stage play. Michael Jackson's lawyer stated to the British court that the singer is too ill to testify in person for this breach-of-contract brought on by the prince. There's not too many photos of the Sheikh online but here's one and here's another. It'll be interesting where this story will lead.
