[Members - Recycler] This is the 2nd installment to the Recycling section. These are photos that were either sent to me via the (almost defunct) Yahoo!Groups bear-pics, some sent in from guys which their emails are no longer working, and some photos which were found along the way.

As I mentioned the last time with the Bear Foot section; if there are any photos that belong to you, then either contact to tell us you do not wish to have your photos up, or even better, just send us more photos of yourself (preferably updated ones) and we'll create you an Amateur Gallery in exchange for a membership.

Yet another update concerning 'TubeBear 2.o', the new and seriously improved redesigned site of the original TubeBear (last update here).

We have now moved on from the design phase and are going into the actual mounting of the site phase (meaning - working on the site's innards). What this means is that hopefully we should be calling out for beta testers in about 2 weeks or so. Our goal has been to have the site ready by Xmas, and from the looks of it, that might be a little ambitious on our part (since there's just so much to do), yet we'll definitely have 'something' up and running for the holiday seasons.

And I am really excited about all this since the new TubeBear is really looking sleek and sexy. I've been working on websites since '99 and I have to say that TubeBear 2.o simply outshines anything I've worked on in the past. This new site just shines, just like a husky handsome beautiful Bear (aww...).

So keep an eye out for the next update, which will most likely be that call for beta Bears.

This story actually scares me (article - video), because I didn't think this was possible: Brian Thomas, 59, strangled his wife Christine, 57, while he was sound asleep. He stated he was dreaming of being burglarized. This case is special, I believe, since Brian Thomas suffers from a chronic sleep disorder, however there are 50 such cases a year of someone killing the one laying next to them. Brian Thomas has been acquitted and has been told to sleep alone.

Sometimes in life, we ponder... we ponder about our lives, our sexuality, our goals... but I gotta tell ya, I never ponder when I see a picture of Joe Mannetti aka Joe Falconi (articles - TubeBear). My mind instantly tells me to smile and I'm reminded that I should be happy for handsome men like him. Recently Joe has been interviewed on the podcast Trans-Ponder. What's all this? Artist Michael Broderick (website - article) is putting on his very first solo show this year. The exhibition is called Naughty and it will be running from December 11th thru the 31st at the AxD Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. Naughty consists of 30+ drawings and prints and it is "Michael's illustrated look at the one night a year sexy Ol' Saint Nick has access to homes... and men all over the world".

So you wanna be a Bear model, all the while dreaming of 'new cars and caviar'...? Last week - I wrote up an article about Bear modelling. I sent the link to Teddy who runs the new BEAR Magazine (website - articles). He wrote me back all the while filling me in about many things about being a model. His email was quite excellent so we decided to post it. To any who are consider being a model, read this as Teddy is a leading voice when it comes to modelling:

"Yeah it's true that getting rich from doing porn is mostly a nice idea. For most guys, think of it as a great way to get tons of attention and some extra cash too. Though, that is all relative to the studio you work for. Some studios pay exactly how you describe it. Others pay a LOT more. It's no wonder why there are so many gay-for-pay models out there—everyone knows that straight porn pays shit for men. Pay is different for each and every studio and everything is considered: experience, looks, dick, performance, popularity... basically, how bankable you are. In that way it mirrors the Hollywood studio pay system.

Beyond that, porn stars will perform events or bars and some will also do escorting. Just like musicians who release an album, they make most of their money from touring and performing. Same concept. There are many porn stars out there who are porn stars 24/7... it is their job. They perform on-camera and on-demand very well and are liked by studios and fans alike. They can make a lot of money by doing many films per year for a lot of studios while performing at events/bars and escorting in-between video productions. For some it is rather lucrative. These are the guys who have the "IT" factor and work "IT" as long and hard as they can. (Note: The "IT" factor is a unique and illusive thing. Many want it, but only a few have it).

The reasons why someone does porn are varied: money, recognition, affirmation, a collected experience, etc. But what happens if you really like it AND you become popular. I always suggest to new models that they keep their porn identity completely separate from themselves, taking it out of the closet (or make-up bag) whenever it's needed. Whatever good or bad happens to your porn alter-ego is happening to "it", not you. Then whenever you want to retire, you simply lock it up and walk away. Easy. However, if you take things personally and start to believe all the hype and all the compliments, you're setting yourself up for possible paranoia, rejection, depression... all the stuff that can come from the rollercoaster ride. That can be a bad place to find yourself in.

As an example, one of our most popular Butch Bear models who successfully did this would only do escorting when he and his partner needed a couch, a flat-screen TV or money for a vacation. I was impressed by how he used his fame as a bank account without getting caught up in the vanity or falling for the hype.

Jack Radcliffe (real name: Frank Martini), the most-recognized porn star of the bear community and Bear Magazine cover model, had the choice to work his porn star status for bigger bucks, but he kept it as a fun hobby while working full-time as a computer analyst and now San Francisco realtor. He decided against performing and escorting. For someone who was in the position of earning much more money as a porn star, he is exactly where he wants to be".

Meet Tareq Salahi (pictured) and his wife Michaele Salahi) (now shown). The Salahi's got dolled up, strolled over to the White House and decided to crash president Barack Obama's party - his first state dinner (CNN article - ABC article). Wow...?

Now red flags are going up everywhere in my mind. First of all, who would even dream up of going to the White House without being on 'the list'? Did they wake up that morning and say - "hey, let's crash Obama's place"...? Just because you put on a tuxedo should not mean a free pass to the White House... should it?

So just how did they get in? If they planned this, there must have been some inside help. Or did they really just drive up to the president's gates while crossing their fingers and toes hoping they will get through?

The Salahi's are TV Reality show people. They have a vineyard... oh and they play polo. What they aren't are political in any way... but they aren't too bright either as they posted their pictures from their evening of party crashing on their Facebook page.

All I can say is - if Obama's security system keeps it up this way... well... they just won't have a president to secure much longer. This is real bad.

More news from Spanish artist Daniel, creator of Sinister Bears (website - articles - TubeBear). Daniel is working on his Zodiac series, with the dozen images representing the different façades of Gay people with much of it slanted to Bear culture (Leather, Dads, Polar Bears).

He recently held a poll on his blog asking which Zodiacs his viewers wanted to see first, and from this he's posted 3 of them and the rest he will be posting soon (and he promised me that Libra is very cool - that being my sign). And the best part of all of this is that he'll be having an exposition in Madrid, Spain soon to show off all of his talented works.

Just when Andy was ready to make the wedding plans, seems his partner Paul needs a bit more time to reflect. Ever since Paul has gotten out of the hospital, he's been seeing life a little differently, however those around him are doing their best to remind him what's best for him.
