From the creators of BearPress, Bear-Pics, PlanetBears and TubeBear - a new site will be unveiled upon the Bear world like no other on March 21st.

We're not revealing the name of the site just yet. There's still a few tweaks to twerk, but wow is this site going to be fun. I honestly believe there is no other site like this one on the internet. It's going to be very cool.

Side note: Yes we are still working on TubeBear version 2.o. In fact, this new site we're opening next week is going to allow us to test out certain features which we plan to include in the new TubeBear. Our goal is to have TubeBear 2.o up for Summer/Fall 2010.

2nd Side note: My apologies for the lack of updates here at PlanetBears. With this new site, TubeBear, THC the web series I'm working, well PlanetBears is the one that suffers. The great news is that this new site is going to make up for all of the lackluster updates you've been getting from me. This new site is simply going to blow your mind, just wait - one more week. Promise.

The 2nd episode to THC ~ The Horsemen Chronicles, will be online really soon, I promise. THC is a new web series that I am working on which I began working on in September 2009. I put out the 1st episode ~ Extortion: Bear Style in early November and I was hopeful to have the 2nd episode done for Xmas. Well it's the middle of March and I am 90% done. Serious hugz for everyone's patience.

A (belated) congratulations goes out to JD Leggett (photo) who took the title of Mr. International Bear 2010 last month at IBR (International Bear Rendezvous) hosted by the Bears of San Francisco.

So what are JD's plans for the following year? From JD: "For the year, I am going to give myself over to the Bear community. I want to go anywhere that wants me, and learn about the Bear community face to face from all over. I have the time and lifestyle that I can do this. I want to go to Bear events, and volunteer to help. I also want to visit the local Bear clubs, bars and people to get an idea of who they are and how they like/differ from the others, and maybe give ideas and help with publicity".

Ah, a man giving himself over to Bears... sigh, that must be quite a site. Seriously, JD is willing to couch surf if he has to. Contact (email) this handsome lad and find out what he and your Bear club can do together.

French artist Guy Thomas (website - articles - TubeBear) has a new exhibition going entitled 'Go West Bear' which is taking place at Le Petit Marais bar in Nantes, France. My apologies for not posting this news article before the vernissage, nevertheless the show is still up for another couple of months. Also make sure to visit his site and take a peek at this man's genius when it comes to drawing Bears.

The last I heard, Bearotic has Gaybies, and they are hoping it will spread. Bearotic has been nominated for Best LGBT Blog in the first annual Gaybies awards which is honoring the best films, books, actors, blogs, film festivals & more for 2009. The winners will be determined by web votes so it's all up to us Bear lovers to make sure Bearotic wins best blog.

Awhile back, I posted an article about a Turkish Bear site entitled İçimdeki Ayı, stating I really wasn't sure on how to pronounce the name of this fine site. Well a year later and my Turkish is still no better, however the fine gents who run İçimdeki Ayı inform me that they have changed the layout to their very cool site. Also, check out another site they are working on - Who is this Bear.

Bearapalooza (website - articles) is throwing its first full Bear run and an outdoor music festival - with a retro 1980's theme. This will all be taking place from April 15th thru the 18th at Roy's Hideaway Campground in Collins, Georgia. This will include a full day outdoor music festival with performances by Freddy Freeman, Kendall, Elijah Black, Roger Mapes, Martin Swinger, RockCub, Don Harvy, Charles K. Brown and Jeff Altergott.

When I first heard of Tweeter, it didn't impress me much. Then when I heard stars use it, it still didn't impress me much. But when I saw this video that Danny DeVito Tweets his Troll Feet... well.. that brought Tweeter to a whole new dimension. I wonder just how many other people are tweeting body parts? Just remember, if you Tweet that you're leaving the house, you might see your Tweet show up on 'Please Rob Me (website - article).

This is for all those in the southeastern part of Europe (Balkan): there is a new regional party that is being planned in Zagreb, Croatia and it's a called Snax which will be happening on March 6th, then every first Saturday of the month. Cruising, military, leather, rubber... and Bear!

(This is not Bear related) The site is called PleaseRobMe and what this page does is check to see who's Tweeting their whereabouts. Some people tweet their home address, which isn't very smart, while others Tweet that they are away from their home 'I'm at McDonald's', which allows others who are following your Tweet to realize you are not home, making you a target to be burglarized.

From this article: "The developer noted that he does not intend the site to become an aid to burglars. "The website is not a tool for burglary. The point we're getting at is that not long ago it was questionable to share your full name on the internet. We've gone past that point by 1000 miles", he remarked, adding it would be 'very difficult' in practice to commit a burglary solely with the information provided".
